The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has waived additional filing fees for 13 major e-forms due to a planned three-week shutdown of the MCA21 portal. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) launched the MCA21 portal to offer secure and simple online access to corporate services. It automates compliance and enforcement under the Companies Act, 1956, Companies Act, 2013, and the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008. The portal is also designed for smooth interoperability with the National e-Governance Services Delivery Gateway (NSDG).

Tension has increased after farmers were arrested and later granted bail for entering the Sharavathi Lion Tailed Macaque Wildlife Sanctuary in Sagar taluk with country-made weapons. The sanctuary is located in the Sharavathi River Valley in Shivamogga district, Karnataka. It is part of the Western Ghats, which is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. It was formed by merging the Sharavathi Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, Aghanashini Lion-Tailed Macaque Conservation Reserve, and nearby reserve forest areas.

India rose to 15th place in 2024 among top global destinations for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), up from 16th in 2023, despite a slight fall in inflows to $27.6 billion. This was reported in the World Investment Report 2025 by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The report tracks global FDI trends and their impact on development. India led in South Asia for FDI and attracted a major share of Asia’s $605 billion inflows.

Due to soaring market demand, overharvesting has pushed wild agarwood close to extinction. Aquilaria malaccensis, also called agarwood, is a tree from the Thymelaeaceae family known for its fragrant resin. Agarwood, also known as Oud, Gaharu or Agar, is one of the most valuable incense materials globally. It grows naturally in Northeast India, mainly in Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur. Its conservation status is Critically Endangered under the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The Union Minister of Women and Child Development has launched the Gender Budgeting Knowledge Hub to support gender-sensitive planning across India. It is a digital platform developed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The aim is to help policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders use gender-disaggregated data and tools for better planning. The portal offers policy briefs, best practices, and resources to promote gender equity in budgeting. It supports both Central and State-level planning with a focus on gender inclusion.
