The 75th Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) is inaugurated at Government Medical College, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. It is launched by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) provides integrated services like assessment, counselling, distribution, and aftercare for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) and senior citizens. It is implemented through Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), under Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).

Environmentalists recently raised alarm over the approval of an eco-tourism resort on Surla plateau inside Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, which lies in a critical tiger habitat. Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary is located in North Goa in the Western Ghats. It is named after the Mhadei River that flows through it and features scenic waterfalls like Vazra Sakla Falls and Virdi Falls. Goa’s three highest peaks—Sonsogod, Talvche Sada, and Vagheri—are located within the sanctuary. Forests are dense with semi-evergreen and moist deciduous trees like teak, sal, bamboo, orchids, and medicinal plants.

Hockey Jharkhand won the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025 by defeating Hockey Association of Odisha 1-0 in the final. The final was held at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Hockey Haryana won the Bronze medal after a 3-3 draw and a 5-4 shootout win against Hockey Mizoram.

The Behdienkhlam festival recently celebrated in Jowai, Meghalaya with vibrant celebrations and religious devotion by the Pnar (Jaintia) community. It is the most important indigenous religious festival of the Jaintias tribe. and is celebrated annually in mid-July after the sowing season. ‘Behdienkhlam’ means “driving away the plague or pestilence” using sticks.

World Youth Skills Day is observed every year on July 15th. This United Nations (UN) initiative highlights the importance of equipping youth with skills to thrive in a changing world. The 2025 theme is “Youth Empowerment Through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Skills.” It aims to address youth unemployment and underemployment affecting 450 million young people globally. The day promotes skill development in line with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
