The GST & Customs Pavilion of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has secured the Gold Prize in the ‘Public Outreach and Communication’ category at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 in New Delhi. The recognition highlights the Pavilion’s expansive engagement strategy, innovative presentation formats and inclusive approach to taxpayer communication.

Award-winning theme and public response

Presented from 14 to 27 November, the Pavilion was built around the theme “Next-Gen GST: सरल कर, खुशहाल राष्ट्र”. It aimed to familiarise citizens with recent reforms in indirect taxation and trade facilitation. With strong participation from taxpayers, industry representatives, students and the general public, the exhibit recorded high footfall and positive feedback on its accessible design.

Key engagement features of the Pavilion

The Pavilion functioned as an interactive learning space offering real-time support and educational content. Eight dedicated helpdesks provided assistance on GST registration, refunds, return filing, trade procedures and grievance redressal. Digital screens displayed reform-driven improvements, while multilingual videos ensured clarity for visitors from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Activities to enhance public understanding

Awareness initiatives included quizzes, puppet and magic shows, caricature sessions, VR games and thematic selfie points. These formats made complex tax processes easier to grasp and encouraged active participation. Youth-focused guidance sessions further introduced students to career pathways in CBIC and the broader domain of revenue administration.
