SWIFT 2.0: Digital Single-Window Clearance
SWIFT, or Single Window Interface for Facilitating Trade, is a digital platform designed to streamline customs clearance for exports and imports. The upgraded SWIFT 2.0 aims to enhance transparency, reduce processing time and simplify compliance through end-to-end digital integration.
The platform forms part of broader customs reforms focused on trust-based processes and digital governance. Officials stated that SWIFT 2.0 will strengthen coordination among regulatory agencies and improve trade facilitation.
Revamped Atithi App and Digital Traveller Services
CBIC will also release a revamped version of the Atithi app, developed to assist international passengers in filing baggage declarations and clearing customs upon arrival in India. The Digital Travellers Guide will provide updated information on baggage rules, personal imports and customs procedures.
These measures are intended to improve ease of living and ensure smoother passenger experiences at airports.
National Symposium on Customs Reforms
Ahead of the celebrations, CBIC will host the National Symposium on Customs Reforms 2026. Discussions will cover legal amendments, import procedure reforms, and the evolution of the Customs Integrated System (CIS). Emerging export opportunities, including courier reforms and fisheries enablement, will also be highlighted.
