Cauvery-Vaigai-Guntar river linking project

Foundation stone is to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Cauvery-Vaigai-Guntar river linking project on February 14 through video conferencing. This project would involve the construction of 255.60 km long canal from Mayanur, Karur to link Cauvery with Vaigai. It is expected to benefit the region’s farmers who are involved in the cultivation of water intensive crops like turmeric, sugarcane and paddy.
