Brazil’s COVID-19 cases crosses 1 million mark

On 19th June, Brazil has confirmed that the country’s COVID-19 cases have surpassed 1 million, second only to the United States. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is still downplaying the risks of the on-going pandemic despite facing nearly 50,000 deaths from COVID-19 in last 3 months, saying that the impact of lockdown on the country’s economy could be worse than the disease itself.
