Assam signs agreement with Microsoft

The State Govt of Assam inked a pact with Microsoft Corporation India Private Ltd (MCIPL).

Objective: To speed up Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adoption in schools.

It is a one year association that will assist the Assam school education system to use ICT towards improving the standard of learning in schools.

There will be vehemence on professional development for 5,760 school teachers in Assam and will dower them with skills necessary for integrating IT (Information Technology) in classroom teaching to achieve better learning results for the students under Microsoft’s Partners in Learning (PiL) program through training sessions held at 6 state-run District Institute for Education and Training (DIETS)

Microsoft’s Partners in Learning (PiL) program: PiL was introduced in 2008. It is a global Microsoft program aimed at providing teachers with tools to enhance their IT skills and integrating ICT into teaching and learning in a meaningful way. Since the introduction of this programme, 708,017 government school teachers in India have been successfully trained in 17 states of India, including: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh

    its a very good idea. implementation should be strict and result oriented.
