ASI Hosts National Workshop on Project Mausam Framework
The Archaeological Survey of India held a National Workshop in New Delhi in November 2025 to refine the thematic framework of Project Mausam. The ASI sanctioned Rs. 30 lakh for the workshop from its allocated budget. The expenditure incurred was approximately Rs. 25,70,182. The fund supported venue arrangements, expert consultations and documentation processes essential for the project’s next phase.
Broader Scope of Project Mausam
Project Mausam aims to explore historic maritime cultural connections among nations of the Indian Ocean region. The initiative promotes joint transnational nominations to UNESCO, collaborative research, documentation of maritime heritage and capacity building among participating nations.
