Apprenticeship Act, 1961

The Apprenticeship Act, 1961 seeks to regulate training programmes of apprentices in the industries for ensuring on-the-job training. It is administered by the skill development ministry. The Finance Minister announced the amendment of this law and realignment of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme for training and apprenticeship of graduates and diploma holders in engineering. Rs.3,000 crore outlay was announced for this purpose. This initiative is expected to enhance apprenticeship opportunities.
