Amaravati Quantum Valley Project to Launch in Andhra Pradesh

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is set to formally launch construction of the Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) project on February 7, marking a significant step in the State’s ambition to emerge as a global centre for advanced quantum technologies. The foundation stone laying ceremony will be held at Amaravati and is expected to draw key national and industry stakeholders.

The event will be led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, alongside Union Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh and Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh. Their presence underlines the strategic importance being accorded to quantum science and deep technology in India’s innovation roadmap.

Vision and objectives of Amaravati Quantum Valley

The Amaravati Quantum Valley is designed to position the State as a global hub for quantum research, innovation, and talent development. The initiative seeks to integrate academic research with industry applications, enabling faster commercialisation of quantum technologies in areas such as computing, secure communications, and advanced materials.

Industry partnerships and institutional ecosystem

As part of the launch, the State government will sign multiple agreements with leading companies and academic institutions to establish a robust quantum ecosystem. The project will house an IBM–TCS Quantum Innovation Centre, a dedicated Quantum Talent Hub, and a Quantum Reference Facility to be set up by SRM University. Quantum initiatives from IBM and TCS will also be unveiled during the event.

Additionally, Memoranda of Understanding will be signed with nine leading companies, signalling strong private sector participation and long-term commitment to building a sustainable quantum innovation cluster in the State.
