Akashvani Raipur to Host World Radio Day Conclave

All India Radio, Raipur, will organise the World Radio Day Conclave 2026 on February 13 to mark the global observance of radio’s enduring relevance. The event, themed “Radio and Artificial Intelligence,” is being held in collaboration with UNESCO and will take place at Hotel Babylon Capital in Raipur from 10:00 am, with registration commencing at 9:30 am.

The conclave aims to explore the evolving role of radio in the digital age, particularly its interface with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Theme Focus: Radio and Artificial Intelligence

This year’s theme reflects the growing integration of artificial intelligence in broadcasting, content production and audience engagement. Discussions are expected to examine how AI tools are transforming newsroom operations, automating workflows and enhancing multilingual outreach, while preserving the credibility and trust associated with radio.

The initiative seeks to position radio as a resilient and adaptive medium amid rapid technological change.

Dignitaries and Participation

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will attend the conclave as the Chief Guest. Senior officials, media professionals and invited participants are expected to deliberate on the future of public broadcasting. The Director General of Akashvani has extended invitations to stakeholders and dignitaries.

Participants have been advised to carry invitation cards for security clearance and to keep mobile phones on silent mode during the proceedings.

World Radio Day is observed annually on February 13 to recognise radio as a powerful medium for information dissemination, education and dialogue. The date commemorates the establishment of United Nations Radio in 1946.
