The Government of Mexico has approved the use of the first-ever vaccine (Dengvaxia) for dengue fever. The Dengvaxia vaccine is manufactured by the French drug maker Sanofi. The vaccine protected two-thirds of people against dengue in those aged 9 and older in two large clinical trials spanning Latin America and Asia, involving more than 40,000 children and adolescents.
