Rockefeller Foundation Announces $350 Million Global Aid Initiative

The Rockefeller Foundation released its 2025 Impact Report, titled Big Bets, Real Results, on 18 May 2026. The report stated that the Foundation awarded over US$350 million in 2025 through 235 grants and programme-related investments to 204 unique partners.

Grant-making and capital mobilisation

The Foundation stated that its 2025 awards directly mobilised US3 billion and helped mobilise an additional US29 billion in indirect capital. The combined capital mobilised was US$32 billion in 2025.

Geographical reach and programme areas

The Foundation said that its 2025 work covered Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and the United States. Its major programme areas included Universal Energy Abundance, Food is Medicine in the United States, and Regenerative School Meals globally.

Selected outcomes and sectoral focus

The Foundation cited AI-powered disease alerts in Latin America, school meals in Kenya, and clean energy projects in Haiti and India. It also stated that 731 million people were reached worldwide in 2025, while 3 million people experienced a measurable outcome from direct interventions.

Energy access and clean cooking

In February 2026, The Rockefeller Foundation, the Global Energy Alliance, the Clean Cooking Alliance, and Energy Corps committed to scaling modern cooking technologies in Africa. Around one billion people in Africa rely on traditional fuels for cooking.

Mission 300 and electricity access

Since 2024, The Rockefeller Foundation has committed over US$100 million with the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet for Mission 300. Mission 300 aims to connect 300 million people in Africa to electricity by 2030.
