Ophichthus kailashchandrai, a newly discovered species of snake eel, was found in the Bay of Bengal. This species, which is not a snake but a type of fish, inhabits depths of around 50 meters. It is the eighth Ophichthus species identified in the Indian Ocean and is named after the director of the Zoological Survey of India. The eel measures between 420 to 462 millimeters and features a light brown body with white fins.

India is one of the richest countries in the world where biodiversity is significant. The natural variation in life is also reflected in the demography of the land. Aravali hills is not the biodiversity hot spot.
