Darwin’s Arch is a rock formation south-east of Darwin Island in the Galápagos archipelago, Ecuador. The structure has recently collapsed due to natural erosion.
At present, only two rocky pillars are left at the northernmost island of the Pacific Ocean archipelago. Darwin’s Arch is made of natural stone that would have been part of Darwin Island. This site is considered one of the best places to dive and observe sharks and other aquatic species.

The United States Treasury Department recently announced that the international corporations should pay at least 15 percent tax on their earnings.
The Department announced that 15 percent is a minimum rate and it will continue discussions to push the rate higher. American companies currently pay a 21 percent tax rate that was brought down by ex-President Donald Trump from 35 percent. President Joe Biden had proposed to raise the tax rate to 28 percent.

The Indian Navy’s first destroyer – INS Rajput has been decommissioned from the service after guarding the nation for a term of 41 years.
This ship was built by the erstwhile USSR and was commissioned into the Navy on May 4 1980. The decommissioning event is to be held in Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard.

In the year 2020, India had made 40,300 requests to the social media giant Facebook, to provide user data. India has ranked second after the USA in making the most data request from Facebook.
Also, in response to the directions from the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Facebook has restricted the access to 878 items in the year 2020, since these were violating Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Air India’s passenger service system provider SITA faced a massive cyberattack recently, leading to leak of the personal data of a certain number of passengers. SITA is based at Geneva, Switzerland.
Data of 4.5 million passengers across the world has been was registered between August 11, 2011, and February 3, 2021, has been affected due to the cyberattack on SITA.

The International Monetary Fund has proposed a $50 billion global vaccination plan for the world, which aims to vaccinate at least 40% of the global population by the end of the year 2021.
The proposal for $50 billion is expected to be in the form of grants, Governmental resources and concessional financing.

Marker regulator SEBI has increased the overall limit for overseas investments in India by alternative investment funds and venture capital to $1,500 million. This is double the earlier investment limit, as the earlier cap was $750 million.
SEBI has stated that apart from AIF and VC, all other investment limits remain the same.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). India has been protesting over the project, as it traverses through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
China and Pakistan recently celebrated the establishment of 70 years of their diplomatic relations. China has again defended the USD 60 billion CPEC project with Pakistan, saying it is an economic project not aimed at any third country.

Notes:
India has become the second country after the USA to achieve 20 crore vaccination mark. This fete has been achieved by India in a period of 130 days. USA who is in the top spot had achieved the 20 crore mark in 124 days.
Union Health Ministry has stated that more than 34% of above 45 age population have been vaccinated at least once.

The Central Government is set to provide grants to some public sector companies under the Mission COVID Suraksha, to increase the vaccine production.
Hyderabad based Indian Immunological limited, IIL, is a facility under the National Dairy Development Board. As per the Science and Technology Ministry, IIL and Bharat Biotech has collaborated to supply the drug substance for manufacturing Covaxin Vaccine.
