India has reported cases of White Fungus infections, which is caused due to low immunity or if people come in contact with bodies containing these fungi.
Affected patients are diagnosed Covid negative, but the fungal infection can be detected only by a CT scan. The fungus affects lungs, nails, skin, stomach, kidney etc.

90% of the world’s rhino population is found in South Africa. The University of Witwatersrand (WITs), South Africa has initiated the “Rhisotope Project,”.
It is an ambitious anti-poaching initiative, carried out in partnership with scientists and researchers of several countries. The project works by injecting radioactive isotopes into the horns of rhinos, which can be used eventually to detect the horns while reaching international borders.

The CSIR Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) has developed an UV-C air duct disinfection system, which can be used to disinfect Air Conditioning systems of auditoriums, large conference rooms, classrooms, malls etc thus providing a safer indoor environment.
This technology has been transferred to indigenous manufacturers for making the disinfection system commercially available in India.

Sarcophilus harrisii, also called as the Tasmanian devil, is a carnivorous marsupial. It has a muscular build, black fur, pungent odour, extremely loud screech, high sense of smell and fast feeding.
As per media reports, seven animals have been born in the wild of Australia’s mainland for the first time in more than 3,000 years. This is expected to promote the endangered animals.

Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, a 1985-batch IPS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as the chief of the Central Bureau of Investigation for a two-year period.
He is also serving as the chief of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF). He had also a been part of the Intelligence Bureau and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

The Government of Assam has introduced the system of Guardian Minister. Each Minister would be assigned two to three districts in the state and the responsibility to implement various schemes of the Union and the state governments would be vested with the Minister.
The Minister would also over see the grievance redressal and resolve any other issues in the allotted districts.

The Union Defence Ministry has launched the SeHAT OPD portal, which aims to provide telemedicine services to the armed force personnel, veterans and their family members.
SeHAT stands for ‘Services e-Health Assistance & Tele-consultation, whose service can be availed by registering in the Defence Ministry’s website – https://sehatopd.in/.

The Space X has launched a Falcon 9 rocket on May 26 th 2021 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station here in Florida. This is the company’s reusable rocket, which would be brought down to the Earth after launch.
The rocket carried 60 Starlink internet satellites and has placed all of them in earth’s orbit.

Social media giant WhatsApp has moved the Delhi High Court, against the new data protection rules brought in by the Government of India which requires the breaking of end-to-end data encryption.
The Government of India has stated that it respects the Right to Privacy, but at the same time is necessary to identify the first originator of messages leading to crimes.

Actor Randeep Hooda has been removed as the ambassador of the Convention for the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), United Nation’s environmental treaty.
This announcement came after a controversy over his derogatory comments against Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati. CMS or Bonn Convention, is an international agreement signed in 1979, that aims to conserve migratory species throughout their ranges
