Notes:
The CSIR Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) has developed an UV-C air duct disinfection system, which can be used to disinfect Air Conditioning systems of auditoriums, large conference rooms, classrooms, malls etc thus providing a safer indoor environment.
This technology has been transferred to indigenous manufacturers for making the disinfection system commercially available in India.

Notes:
As per the recent data released on India’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflow during 2020-21, Singapore’ is at the top with 29%, followed by the U.S.A (23%) and Mauritius (9%).
In terms of sector, ‘Computer Software & Hardware’ is at the top with around 44% share of the total FDI Equity inflow followed by Construction Activities (13%) and Services Sector (8%).

The season’s first consignment of Shahi Litchi from Bihar sourced from farmers in Muzaffarpur, was exported to the United Kingdom by air route recently.
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) collaborated with the Department of Agriculture, Bihar, to export the GI certified product for income maximisation of farmers.

Scientists from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal have found the variant of the African violets in Mizoram.
Named as Didymocarpus vickifunkiae, the endangered species has been recorded scientifically for the first time in India. African violets, native to Tanzania and Kenya, are epiphytes, that grows on trees and produces light pink flowers during the monsoons.

Notes:
As a part of its efforts to curb frauds, Market regulator SEBI is set to appoint auditors for conducting forensic audits of financial statements of listed companies.
SEBI has invited applications from eligible Chartered Accountant firms with at least 10 years of experience in the field of audit or forensic audit, among other criteria. In October 2020, SEBI asked listed companies to make disclosures about their initiation of forensic audit to stock exchanges.

Notes:
The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has finalised the guidelines for the next round of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme and it is expected that the government would disburse 10 million fresh LPG connections under the scheme.
The scheme aims to provide LPG gas connections to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, free of cost.

The Union Defence Ministry has launched the SeHAT OPD portal, which aims to provide telemedicine services to the armed force personnel, veterans and their family members.
SeHAT stands for ‘Services e-Health Assistance & Tele-consultation, whose service can be availed by registering in the Defence Ministry’s website – https://sehatopd.in/.

Notes:
For the first time in the history, Germany has recognised that it committed genocide against the people in present-day Namibia during its colonial rule over a century ago.
Between 1904 and 1908, German colonial settlers killed people from the Herero and Nama tribes after they rebelled against colonial rule. After five years of negotiations between the two countries, Germany promised financial support of over a billion euros to help the community projects in Namibia.

The Ministry of Education has recently launched YUVA- (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) Prime Minister’s Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors.
It is an Author Mentorship programme to train young authors below 30 years. The launch of YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) is a part of India@75 Project to highlight the perspectives of young writers on themes like Unsung Heroes, Freedom Fighters and Forgotten Places.

Notes:
Under the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme, both the Centre and State government share the cooking cost for daily meals in the ratio of 60:40 for non-North eastern states and UTs with legislatures except J&K and in the ratio of 90:10 for all others.
Recently, the Centre has decided to transfer its share of the cooking cost component in the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme for students of classes 1 to 8, into their bank accounts as a one-time Covid relief.
