Notes:
The Central Government announced to hike the fertiliser subsidy to Rs 1,200 per bag of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP).
This decision has been taken in a high-level meeting on the issue of fertiliser prices after taking into account of the rising prices of phosphoric acid, ammonia etc internationally. The subsidy was increased from Rs 500 per bag to Rs 1,200 per bag, at an increase of 140%.

Notes:
The Archaeological Survey of India have submitted six Indian sites to the tentative list of UNESCO’s world heritage sites, as per the recent announcement of Culture Ministry.
The six sites are namely Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh, Iconic riverfront of the historic city of Varanasi, Megalithic site of Hire Benkal in Karnataka, Maratha Military Architecture in Maharashtra, Bhedaghat-Lametaghat in Narmada Valley- Jabalpur, and temples of Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu).

Government approved the Central Sector Scheme entitled “National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM)” for overall promotion and development of scientific beekeeping to achieve the goal of “Sweet Revolution” in the country.
NBHM estimates ₹500 crore for 2020-21 to 2022-23 for the development of beekeeping in the country. Nearly 10,000 bee-keepers in the country have registered under Hive-to-tongue traceability project of NBHM.

The researchers at the Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have developed a new Covid-19 antibody test machine.
The semi-quantitative electrochemical ELISA test for Covid-19, can determine levels of Covid-induced IgM and IgG antibodies. A start-up incubated at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), has made this significant development.

The Government of India has renewed an MoU with the Government of Oman, on military cooperation and maritime issues.
The document was signed by Munu Mahawar, the Indian Ambassador to Oman on behalf of the Government of India and by Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi representing the Government of Oman.

In extreme cases of Covid19, doctors choose to apply ECMO or Extracorporeal membrane oxygen for critically ill patients.
When oxygen support fails and when patients are not able to respond to interventions like mechanical ventilation, doctors may choose to apply ECMO, which acts as an artificial heart and pair of artificial lungs outside the body.

Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Sunday issued an ordinance to amend the Nepali Citizenship Act.
After the ordinance is issued, citizenship by descent will be provided to children of those ‘bona fide’ citizens of Nepal, who own citizenship by birth-right. The children whose mothers are Nepal citizens but their fathers’ identities cannot be established, will also be granted Nepali citizenship.

Belarus was in news recently as its authorities flagged a false bomb alert to force a Ryanair plane to land before they detained an opposition-minded journalist Roman Protasevich who had been on board.
A MiG-29 fighter jet escorted the Ryanair-operated passenger plane going to Lithuania. The plane was suddenly diverted to Minsk, the capital of Belarus, where authorities detained the journalist.

Notes:
Iran has agreed to extend an agreement allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to keep surveillance cameras at nuclear sites, by one month.
As per the IAEA chief Rafael Grossi, the deal would end on 24 June. In February, Iran reduced its co-operation with IAEA in retaliation for sanctions imposed by the US when it abandoned a nuclear deal in 2018.
