Notes:
To address the current surge in tomato prices and ensure affordability for consumers, the government has initiated the procurement of tomatoes through the Price Stabilisation Fund.
These tomatoes are being provided to consumers at significantly subsidized rates. The Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) was set up in 2014-15 under the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Famers Welfare. It was then transferred to Department of Consumer Affairs from 2016.

Notes:
The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), the government-backed e-commerce protocol, launched a repository of online training material for merchants called the ONDC Academy.
ONDC, which was funded initially by banks, has been conceived as a counterweight against large e-retail, quick commerce and ride-hailing firms. The repository is stored on an ONDC website as well as on YouTube, with assistance from the National Stock Exchange.

Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) issued an advisory regarding the internet ransomware virus named ‘Akira.’
This malware targets Windows and Linux-based systems, stealing personal information and encrypting data to extort money from victims through a double extortion scheme.

In Uttar Pradesh, water entered houses as the Hindon River swelled up and overflowed its banks. The Hindon River flows into the Yamuna River as one of its tributaries.
Heavy rain in the Yamuna river’s upper catchment areas, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana, led to the Yamuna’s water swelling to record levels.

During the two-day national conference held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Echo India entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish JJM Digital Academy.
The Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, inaugurated the online portal of JJM Digital Academy on this occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the inauguration of ‘Semicon India 2023’, exhibition highlighting India’s semiconductor capabilities and chip design innovation, taking place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The event will witness the participation of prominent companies such as Foxconn, Micron, AMD, IBM, Marvell, Vedanta, LAM Research, NXP Semiconductors, and STMicroelectronics, showcasing India’s significant progress in nurturing a global semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem.

Mount Kun is situated in Ladakh in the western Himalayan Range. It is the second highest summit of the massif with elevation of 23,219 feet.
To commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, a group of mountaineers from the Indian Army’s Dagger Division achieved an extraordinary accomplishment by successfully climbing Mount Kun, reaching its 7,077-meter summit in record time, and performing Yoga to pay tribute.

The Lok Sabha has passed the National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill, 2023. The bill aims to establish regulations and uphold education and service standards for nursing and midwifery professionals. It comes under the aegis of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill, 2023 aims at setting up National Nursing and Midwifery Commission (NNMC) and to repeal the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947.

Notes:
A distinctive blue mushroom species (Entoloma hochstetteri) was recently discovered in the forests of Kaghaznagar division.
It is a rare mushroom and it is indigenous to New Zealand. The appearance of blue mushrooms was observed for the first time in India, specifically in Odisha, in 1989.

The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway in association with the state’s transport department dispatched the first goods trains carrying food grains and essential commodities to Khongsang railway station at Manipur from Guwahati.
Khongsang is the latest station which was commissioned in 2022 in the Jiribam-Imphal new line project. The first direct passenger train service namely ‘Jan Shatabdi Express’ was earlier inaugurated between Tripura’s Agartala and Khongsang .
