Scientists from Bangladesh and Mauritius joined the Indian research vessel ‘Sagar Nidhi’ for a collaborative oceanic expedition lasting approximately 35 days.
The expedition is being organized by the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), operating under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

The International Seabed Authority is a Jamaica-based intergovernmental body of 167 member states and the European Union established under the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The International Seabed Authority is making preparations to restart discussions that may potentially allow mining activities in the international seabed, called Deep Sea mining.

Recently, the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) has commemorated Ashadha Purnima as the Dharma Chakra Pravartana Divas at the National Museum in Janpath, New Delhi. The Ashadha Purnima falls every year on the full moon day of the month of Ashadha as per the Indian lunar calendar.
This event holds great significance as it is the annual flagship celebration of the IBC and is considered the second most sacred day for Buddhists, following the Buddha Purnima.

The foundation stone for the Inland Waterways Transport (IWT) terminal at Bogibeel in Dibrugarh, Assam was laid recently.
The terminal, located on the bank of the Brahmaputra River (National Waterways 2), will serve as a tourist-cum-cargo facility.

The ‘Quadripartite’ — comprising the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) — released the One Health Priority Research Agenda on Antimicrobial Resistance through a webinar.
The organisations work specifically in the areas of human, animal, plant, and environmental health. WHO also launched a global research agenda for AMR in human health recently.

After over a hundred years, scientists have finally determined the cause behind the crimson-colored discharge known as Blood Falls from Taylor Glacier in Antarctica.
Through analyzing samples collected in 2006 and 2018, researchers discovered that the presence of iron-rich nanospheres is responsible for the striking red coloration.

Village-level Child Welfare and Protection Committees have been assigned the task of identifying vulnerable children, including orphans and street children, to create a vulnerability map that will aid in efficiently providing necessary support.
The identified children will be assisted under the sponsorship component of the Mission Vatsalya scheme of Ministry of Women and Child Development.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will head the NATO for another year, after his contract was extended again.
Mr Stoltenberg’s time as secretary general was due to end in October while his term had already been extended three times. Norwegian-born Mr Stoltenberg was an economist and former Prime Minister and the announcement comes a week before the next NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for the establishment of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
This is the first IIT campus ever to be established outside of India. Zanzibar is a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of East Africa.
