Vienna-based Wiener Zeitung, one of the world’s oldest newspapers, ceased its daily print edition after more than three centuries, marking the end of an era in journalism.
The newspaper’s final front page paid tribute to its remarkable legacy, highlighting 320 years of publication encompassing multiple presidents, emperors, and republics.

Indian Bank, in partnership with National E-Governance Service Limited (NeSL) , has rolled out e-BG (electronic bank guarantee) services under Project WAVE.
Indian Bank has also introduced a new facility under Project WAVE, to ensure fully end-to -end digitally pre-approved business loans. The facility is available to process a loan of ₹25 lakh.

France and the United Arab Emirates have joined forces to expedite the transition to clean energy solutions.
The two countries are collaborating on projects in fields such as hydrogen and nuclear energy. A trilateral cooperation initiative involving France, the UAE, and India was established earlier this year.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for the establishment of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
This is the first IIT campus ever to be established outside of India. Zanzibar is a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of East Africa.

India and Mumbai City FC footballer Lallianzuala Chhangte was named as the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) Men’s Footballer of the Year for 2022-23.
Manisha Kalyan was named as the AIFF Women’s Footballer of the Year for 2022-23. She recently became the first Indian to play in UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Tamil Nadu has issued Guidelines for ‘Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai’ scheme. As per the guidelines, women with an annual family income of less than ₹2.5 lakh; family land holding not exceeding 5 acres (wetland) and 10 acres (dryland); and annual household electricity consumption below 3,600 units would be eligible to avail themselves of a monthly aid of Rs 1,000 in Tamil Nadu.

In the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, the core catcher which is an integral component of the safety system for handling severe accidents has been installed recently.
The system is installed beneath Power Unit No. 5 and weighs over 156 metric tons. The Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant is located in Tamil Nadu and is based on the Russian WWER-1000 reactor design.

The Reserve Bank recently constituted a working group on to accelerate the pace of internationalisation of the rupee, which is headed by RBI Executive Director Radha Shyam Ratho.
The working group has submitted its report and has recommended various measures, including inclusion of the rupee in the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) basket and recalibration of the foreign portfolio investor (FPI) regime etc.

Mount Fagradalsfjall is situated on the Reykjanes Peninsula. It has registered around 2,200 earthquakes recently.
The volcano is situated around 40 kilometres from Reykjavík, Iceland. Thousands of earthquakes in the region in recent weeks warned of geological activity.

Notes:
The Automated External Defibrillator (AED), also known as a shock machine, is positioned close to the patient’s heart to administer an immediate shock. This shock helps the heart resume its normal rhythm.
The UP government will place these machines in government buildings to ensure immediate access to essential first aid in the event of a cardiac arrest occurring in these establishments.
