Mukhra (K), a model village in the Adilabad district of Telangana, has achieved the distinction of being the first habitation in the state to have 100% insurance coverage.
It has received National-level Gram Urja Swaraj Vishesh award this year, accompanied by a cash incentive of 50 lakh rupees. The village was recognized with Swacch Sujal Shakti Samman this year, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Shashaktikaran Purashkar last year, and the Biodiversity award and Swacch Sarvekshan Award for the year 2020.

During the 3rd Culture Working Group Meeting of G20 held in Hampi, the Ministry of Culture’s Culture Working Group achieved a Guinness World Record for organizing the largest display of Lambani items.
In line with their ‘Culture Unites All’ campaign, a special exhibition showcasing Lambani embroidery patches was officially opened at the Yeduru Basavanna complex in Hampi. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prahlad Joshi, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Coal and Mines.

The highly dangerous Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus is expanding its reach in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, prompting concerns over its potential impact in the context of climate change.
World Health Organization (WHO) has listed CCHF among its 9 priority diseases. The list contains the diseases which the organisation thinks are the biggest threats to public health.

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has come up with a new wheat variety called PBW RS1, which contains high levels of amylose starch. RS stands resistant starch.
This new wheat will help regulate blood sugar and obesity and to reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

In the coming months, the initial trial runs of buses powered by hydrogen are expected to commence in Delhi, with other states to follow suit.
In this trial, the hydrogen-powered buses operate similarly to electric buses, as hydrogen reacts with a ‘fuel cell’ battery to generate electricity without generating any carbon emissions.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has issued official notifications regarding Quality Control Orders for two items: ‘Potable water bottles’ and ‘Flame-Producing Lighters’.
The objective of these Quality Control Orders (QCOs) is to bolster India’s quality infrastructure and improve the well-being and safety of consumers.

The Telangana Eunuchs Act, formerly known as the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Eunuchs Act, was established in 1919 within territories of Hyderabad Nizam. This act pertained to individuals identified as “eunuchs.”
According to its provisions, “eunuchs” were defined as “individuals of the male gender who either self-identified as impotent or were deemed impotent based on medical examination.” Recently, the Telangana High Court declared the Telangana Eunuchs Act of 1919 invalid, stating that it violated the constitution and encroached upon the personal lives of transgender individuals.

Chinese aerospace company LandSpace recently launched methane and liquid oxygen-powered rocket, Zhuque-2, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre.
The successful mission involved placing a test payload into the sun-synchronous orbit (SSO), making LandSpace the first company globally to accomplish this achievement.

Notes:
Bangladesh and India launched the trade transaction in rupees, a move aimed at reducing dependence on the US dollar and strengthening regional currency and trade.
This is the first time Bangladesh has done bilateral trade with a foreign country in addition to the US dollar.
