The ‘Quadripartite’ — comprising the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) — released the One Health Priority Research Agenda on Antimicrobial Resistance through a webinar.
The organisations work specifically in the areas of human, animal, plant, and environmental health. WHO also launched a global research agenda for AMR in human health recently.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has released draft guidelines titled ‘Guidelines for Promoting Community Boiler for Cluster of Small-Scale Industries’.
These guidelines aim to encourage the use of community boilers in clusters of small-scale industries.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has given its approval to Japan’s proposal of releasing treated radioactive water from the decommissioned Fukushima nuclear reactor into the ocean.
The water at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, contaminated from fuel rod contact, has been distilled and is currently stored in tanks holding approximately 1.3 million tonnes of radioactive water.

Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) calls for multipolar world order in the virtual Summit chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
India hosted the summit for the first time and the grouping decided to induct Iran as its ninth and latest member.

“Growth Recession” is the term used to describe an economy where job losses exceed job additions due to sluggish growth.
According to experts, the US economy is currently undergoing growth recession. US stock markets are soaring even as the economy struggles to avoid recession. The US is neither fully in recession nor growing to its full potential.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for the establishment of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
This is the first IIT campus ever to be established outside of India. Zanzibar is a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of East Africa.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Grievance Redressal (DARPG) has developed the National e Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) with an objective of measuring the effectiveness of the existing e Governance service delivery mechanism, from the citizen’s perspective.
The secretary of DARPG, has released the 3^rd edition of National e Governance Service Delivery Assessment.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University collaborated on a report titled ‘From Evidence to Action: Twenty Years of IOM Child Trafficking Data to Inform Policy and Programming.’
According to this report, more than 50% of child trafficking victims are subjected to trafficking within their own countries.

Latvia’s long-serving foreign minister Edgars Rinkēvičs was sworn in as the Baltic nation’s president for a four-year term.
He is known for his tough line on neighbouring Russia and strong support for Ukraine. In 2024, he announced that he is gay, and hence Edgars Rinkēvičs is EU’s first openly gay President.

A peculiar planet named LTT9779b has been identified by astronomers. This Neptune-sized body, located over 260 light-years away from Earth, reflects 80% of the light from its host star.
Notably, it is the first exoplanet found to exhibit a similar brightness level to Venus. The ultra-hot exoplanet, acts like a cosmic mirror because it is covered by reflective clouds of metal.
