Ker Puja, a Hindu festival, occurs a fortnight following Kharchi Puja and pays tribute to Ker, a protective deity. It is mainly observed in Tripura.
It is a century old traditional festival. The area around the royal palace has been notified for Ker Puja, where the rituals are held uninterrupted for more than 30 years.

Chinese aerospace company LandSpace recently launched methane and liquid oxygen-powered rocket, Zhuque-2, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre.
The successful mission involved placing a test payload into the sun-synchronous orbit (SSO), making LandSpace the first company globally to accomplish this achievement.

The Net direct tax collections grew 15.8 per cent to Rs 4.75 lakh crore from April 1-July 9 this year.
This is an indication of economic activity and tax compliance measures, data released by the income tax department showed. With this, the government has achieved 26.05 per cent of its total budget estimate of Rs 18.23 lakh crore for 2023-24.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced that he was quitting politics after nearly 13 years in power.
He was the longest-serving leader in the history of the Netherlands as he served since 2010. He announced his resignation after failing to reach consensus among coalition partners on his government’s refugee policy.

Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, officially launched the indigenous Differential Global Navigation Satellite System (DGNSS) named ‘SAGAR SAMPARK’.
In line with the Digital India initiative, it will enhance the digital transformation of the Indian maritime industry, aiming to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marine operations within the country.

The Regional Conference on ‘Drugs Smuggling and National Security’ was held recently at New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah.
During the event, in the presence of the Home Minister, over 1,44,000 kilogram drugs worth Rs.2,416 crore was destroyed in various parts of the country by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

To assist underprivileged students living on the islands of Dumbur Lake in the Gumati district, the Tripura School Education Department has introduced a complimentary ‘School boat’ service, enabling them to reach school without any charge.
The cluster of 48 islands surrounding Dumbur Lake, situated 120 km from the state capital, relies on fishing as the primary livelihood for the island residents.

The third edition of the ‘Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2022’ report for the States and Union Territories of India was published by NITI Aayog.
The main objective of the EPI report is to provide State governments with specific and localized information that can aid in decision-making, identify areas of strength, address areas of improvement.

Recently, the Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying inaugurated an International Symposium on Sustainable Livestock Transformation.
It was inaugurated at the National Dairy Development Board’s (NDDB), Anand in Gujarat. The event took place as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and under the Agriculture Working Group (AWG) of G20.

According to a recent study published, a fossil finding indicates that mammals may have hunted dinosaurs much larger than themselves.
The fossil, initially discovered by a farmer in 2012, was found in a location referred to as “China’s Pompeii” in the northeastern region of the country. This site was affected by a volcanic eruption millions of years ago, resulting in the burial of plants and animals.
