United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Model Law on Cross border Insolvency (1997) is the most widely accepted legal framework on cross-border insolvency.
The Economic Survey suggested the adoption of UNCITRAL Law with certain modifications. It has been adopted by 49 countries such as Singapore, UK, US, South Africa and Korea. Insolvency Law Committee had recommended the adoption of UNCITRAL.

The Economic Survey 2021-22 has projected the Indian economy to grow at 8.0-8.5 per cent in 2022-23.
A 9.2 per cent expansion for 2021-22 has been outlined by the National Statistical Office (NSO) in its first advance estimates of GDP. This year’s growth comes on a low base year economic output and the expansion of next year would be seen from the recovery levels in economic output.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched “Project Sadbhawana”. It aims to dispose over 4-5 lakh pending files lying in the State secretariat within a year.
A portal will be created where people can inform of their pending files. Along with project Sadbhavana, a Swachhata Abhiyan in Janata Bhawan will also be launched to promote cleanliness in all the departments in the Secretariat.

The Union Budget announced that 2,000 km of the rail network will be brought under ‘Kavach’ technology in 2022-23.
Kavach is an indigenously developed anti-collision device (ACD) network. It is SIL4 certified which means there is a probability of a single error in 10,000 years. 400 new Vande Bharat trains will be introduced, and 100 PM Gati Shakti cargo terminals will be built in the next three years.

Scientists have discovered an alien hammerhead flatworm species that looks like a miniature king cobra. The researchers found the creatures hunting snails in France and Italy.
The flatworm has been named after the COVID-19 pandemic as Humbertium covidum’. These new hammerhead flatworms are also among two newly described species found in countries that are not part of their native range so they were very likely introduced there by humans.

Researchers have recently found skeletal remains of a man buried near a headless horse. The remains have been found in Knittlingen in southern Germany.
Researchers estimate that the man and the horse must have been buried 1400 years ago when the area was ruled by Merovingian dynasty.

Kerala State Government signed a MoU with the Clean Energy International Incubation Centre (CEIIC), for establishing a clean energy incubation centre.
The collaboration will handhold startups, guide research and development in the field as well as allow developers in the State to test their products in the CEIIC labs.

As per a recent research, Ring-shaped molecules known as ‘Porphyrins’ have potential as effective catalyst.
They are the most abundant pigments in nature, noted for their ability to catalyze chemical reactions. The reactions also include those occurring in living systems such as photosynthesis and respiration. It can be used to provide Clean Energy Solutions.

New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell was named the recipient of the ICC ‘Spirit of Cricket’ award 2021 for his significant gesture played during T20 World Cup semi-final versus England.
Mitchell, who opened the batting for New Zealand in the World Cup, won the award for his gesture during the game. He felt he had obstructed the way of bowler Adil Rashid in that moment.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb laid the foundation stone for Kamalpur-Kurmaghat border haat between India and Bangladesh in Dhalai district.
The Border Haat is expected to boost trade relations between the two countries. Border Haats are duty-free trading spaces between two countries where locally grown products are sold to people living within a radius of 5 Km of the Haat on specific days of the week.
