Ministry of Development of Home Affairs formed a special committee to look into demands of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO).
It will be headed by the Advisor of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Centre’s emissary on the Naga Peace Talks, A K Mishra. The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation constitutes seven of the major tribes of Nagaland. They are demanding a separate state by the name of Frontier Nagaland.

The government said that it has received ₹60.46 crore in the form of taxes from entities for transactions in virtual digital assets (VDAs), including cryptocurrencies, after the introduction of TDS provisions in July.
From April 1, the government had brought in a  30 per cent income tax plus surcharge and cess on transfer of crypto assets.

Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the 7th Edition of the India Water Impact Summit (IWIS) at New Delhi.
The theme of this year’s Summit is ‘Restoration and Conservation of Small Rivers in a Large Basin’ with focus on the select aspects of ‘Mapping and Convergence of 5Ps’ – People, Policy, Plan, Programme and Project.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Department of Space signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a Krishi-Decision Support System (Krishi-DSS) using satellite data.
It is a decision support system using RISAT-1A and VEDAS of Department of Space.  It uses geospatial technologies and related databases for enhancing evidence based decision making of all stakeholders in the agriculture sector.

Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud virtually inaugurated 10 district court digitisation hubs (DCDH) in Odisha.
With this, a total of 15 DCDHs have now become functional in the state covering all 30 district courts. Initially, 4 District Court Digitization Centres (DCDCs) were set up on a pilot basis in Cuttack, Ganjam, Sambalpur and Balasore.

India has successfully carried out night trials of the Agni V nuclear-capable ballistic missile, amidst tensions with China over clashes along the border in Arunachal Pradesh.
The nuclear-capable ballistic missile was fired from Abdul Kalam Island, off the coast of Odisha. This is the ninth flight of the Agni V.

Ace Tennis player Rafael Nadal was crowned the ITF world champion for the fifth time in his career, according to the International Tennis Federation (ITF). World number 2 Nadal captured his 22nd major in June with a record-extending 14th French Open title.
21-year-old Iga Swiatek who went on a 37-match winning run won the women’s awards. She was also named WTA Player of the Year.

The leaders of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary signed an agreement on the construction of an electric cable running under the Black Sea to carry green energy from Azerbaijan.
The agreement involves a 1,100 km 1,000 MW cable running from Azerbaijan to Romania as part of European Union efforts to diversify energy resources away from Russia amid the Ukraine war.

Notes:
Argentina became FIFA World Cup champion by beating the defending Champion France 4-2 in penalties.
Argentina lifted the FIFA World Cup title for the third time. Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick for France, while Argentina captain Lionel Messi scored a brace and Angel di Maria netted one goal for Argentina.
