Notes:
The delegations from Sweden and Nepal last week visited the National Health Authority (NHA), to study India’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
NHA is the government department that is responsible for implementing the PMJAY scheme. The health assurance scheme aims to provide a health cover of ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to over 100 million poor families.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got a vote-share close to 13% in Gujarat Elections. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) rulebook, a political party can apply to be recognised as a national party if it is ‘recognised’ in at least four states; or polled at least 6% of the total votes in any four or more states in the previous Lok Sabha or assembly election, and sent at least four MPs to the Lok Sabha in the previous Lok Sabha election; it has won at least 2% of the total seats in the Lower House, from no less than three states.

Special Window for Completion of Construction of Affordable and Mid-Income Housing Projects (SWAMIH I),was  set up under the Special Window for Affordable and Mid-Income Housing.
The fund is sponsored by the Union Finance ministry, and is managed by SBICap Ventures Ltd. It aims to provide priority debt financing for the completion of stressed, brownfield and RERA registered residential projects. It ultimately provides relief to homebuyers of stalled projects.

Bengaluru is the host of the first G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting from December 13 to 15.
The G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting is jointly hosted by the Finance Ministry and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The meeting will mark the start of discussions on the Finance Track agenda under the Indian G20 presidency. The Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting will be held in Bengaluru during February 23-25 2023.

A Japanese start-up ispace Inc launched the country’s first-ever Moon mission with the help of SpaceX.
A Japanese lunar lander carrying two rovers and payload lifted off via a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. It also became the first commercial spacecraft to land on the moon. The launch of Hakuto-R lander was originally scheduled for late November 2022.

After completing the Artemis-1 mission, NASA’s Orion capsule splashed down safely in the Pacific Ocean.
It was the first test flight of a new spaceship meant to carry people back to the Moon. Orion’s next trip will be a loop around the Moon with astronauts on board, named ‘Artemis II’. It is scheduled around 2024.

Legendary athlete PT Usha was elected as the first woman president of Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
She is a multiple Asian Games gold medalist and fourth place finisher in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics 400m hurdles final. The 58-year-old athlete was declared elected unopposed for the top post in the polls. The elections were held under the supervision of Supreme Court-appointed retired SC judge L Nageswara Rao. She became the first Olympian and first international medallist to head the IOA in its 95 year history.

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha said the administration will launch an eight-digit unique alpha-numeric identification number for families in the Union Territory.
The Unique Family ID aims for speedy and transparent implementation of social security schemes. The JK Family ID will also be used to determine eligibility of beneficiaries of various social welfare schemes.

The Group of Seven economies have created an open, international climate club for countries to cooperate in the fight against global warming,
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who holds the presidency of the G-7 until the end of the year, announced the decision. Germany will pass the Presidency to Japan. The club will work to help accelerate the industrial transition to cleaner forms of energy and to further develop emission-reduction measures

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to conduct its annual air exercise in the eastern sector, amid the fresh tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh.
The exercise is set to see the activation of IAF bases in the areas around Tezpur, Chhabua, Jorhat in Assam and Hashimara in West Bengal. Fighter jets, transport aircraft, helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) will participate in the exercise.
