This year, super moons would appear on two occasions – on April 26th and on May 26th. The first super moon on April 26th is called by the name “Pink Moon”.
It is so called because, it corresponds with the springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America, which is commonly known as moss pink.

Recently, a glacier burst has been reported to have occurred in Sumna, Neeti Valley in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is situated very near to the Indo-China border.
As per reports by the Indian Army, 291 persons have been rescued so far and the operations are still on. The personnel trapped includes members of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF).

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has stated that Banks, in order to stay resilient during the Covid-19 crisis, could pay a maximum of 50% of dividend from their profits in 2020-21.
RBI has further stated that, the Board of Directors of the Banks should consider the current and projected capital position of the bank vis-a-vis the applicable capital requirements, before making any payout decisions.

Notes:
The Union Ministry of Agriculture has certified Andaman and Nicobar Islands as organic, under the Large Area Certification (LAC) Scheme of the PGS-India (Participatory Guarantee System) certification programme.
In a first of such kind, about 14,491-hectare (ha) area of contiguous territory has been certified as organic by the Agriculture Ministry.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) had provided a fiscal support of USD 1.5 billion to India in support of the country’s pandemic response.
This was announced during the release of the latest Annual Report (2020) of the multilateral bank. In 2020, the ADB committed $31.6 billion to help Asia and the Pacific, tackle the coronavirus disease outbreak.

Notes:
A massive forest fire has been raging in the hills near Lunglei town, which is situated in the state of Mizoram. The fire is reported to have spread to towns and villages of in and around Lunglei and Lawngtlai districts of the state.
The state has deployed the firefighting team, who have taken assistance from the Assam Rifles, Border Security Force and IAF personnel to put off the fire.

A dedicated community service centre named Aditya-L1 Support Cell (AL1SC) has been set up by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES).
This service centre would bring all data pertaining to the India’s first solar space mission onto a single web-based interface. It has been set up in ARIES transit campus at Haldwani – Uttarakhand.

Project DANTAK was established on April 24, 1961 under the leadership of the then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.
It is one of the oldest projects of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), which was tasked to construct motorable roads in Bhutan. Recently, the Diamond Jubilee of the Project was commemorated in Bhutan, at the DANTAK Memorial.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are medicines that are widely used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and bring down a high temperature.
As per the recent guidelines from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), some painkillers like Ibuprofen are found to worsen COVID-19. Hence, it advised against consuming non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Veteran Gujarati poet Dadudan Gadhvi has recently passed away. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2021 for his contribution in literature and education.
He had also won several other awards including the Gujarat Gaurav Award as well as the Jhaverchand Meghani Award. His complete works are collected in two literary volumes named Terva and Lachhanayan.
