The 10th edition of Regional GRIHA Summit 2019 was organized in Nagpur (Maharashtra). The theme of the event was “Transformation Strategies for Built Environment”. The Public Works Department of Maharashtra state government helped to organize this event.

As per the report published by Reserve Bank of India, the state of Maharashtra tops in ATM frauds for FY 2018-19. Maharashtra faced 233 cases with a total fraud amount of Rs 4.8 crore. Maharashtra is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu.

Swachh Survekshan League 2020 targeted single-use plastic-free India by 2022. The SS 2020 is the 5th edition of the Swachh Survekshan League.

Indian Navy, Mumbai won the 54th All India Bombay Gold Cup hockey championship 2020 by defeating South Central Railway (SCR), Secunderabad. The venue of the final game was Mahindra Hockey Stadium, Churchgate, Mumbai.

The economies of India, China, Singapore and Indonesia are expected to recover from the disastrous effects of Covid-19 pandemic and going to enter ‘Goldilocks’ phase in 2021 according to report published by Morgan Stanley. A Goldilocks economy is identified by low inflation, low unemployment and low interest rates.

San Isidro Movement (MSI) is the ongoing protest against the authoritarian regime in Cuba. Cuba, a Caribbean country, has been under the communist regime for more than 60 years. The San Isidro Movement started in 2018 in response to the state’s censorship of artistic works via the Decree 349.

The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is recently built. It was built in 2020. The  Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway is the first National Expressway.

According to the Ministry of Shipping, around 95% of India’s trading by volume and 70% by value is done through maritime transport. In 2020, the Ministry of Shipping is renamed as the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

The highest productivity was recorded in Patna (84.77 ton per hectare), while the lowest was in Bhagalpur district (46.14 ton per hectare). As per the data given in Economic Survey 2019-20, sugarcane production stood at 182.97 lakh tonnes. The productivity of sugarcane crop decreased from 69.06 ton per hectare in 2017-18 to 60.15 ton per hectare in 2018-19. A district wise analysis reveals that there exists considerable variation in productivity of sugarcane.
The district of West Champaran accounted for nearly 58.3 percent of the total sugarcane production in the state, produced in an area of 1.72 lakh hectares, which is about 56.6 percent of the total area under sugarcane in 2018-19. About 13 districts had productivity higher than that of the state average of 60,150 kg per hectare.

• In Tokyo 2020 Olympics San Marino became the least populated country to win an Olympic medal at the Summer or Winter Games.
• Alessandra Perilli clinched bronze in the women’s trap shooting, becoming the first person to win an Olympic medal for the microstate of around 34,000 inhabitants.
• San Marino replaced Bermuda as the record holder, two days after Flora Duffy won the island nation’s second medal, but first gold, in the women’s triathlon.
