On August 2021, eminent Bengali writer Buddhadeb Guha has passed away. Buddhadeb Guha the author of many notable works such as “Madhukari” (Honey Gatherer), “Koeler Kachhe” (Near the Koel bird) and “Sobinoy Nibedon” (Humble Offering). He also won several awards including Ananda Purashkar in 1976, Shiroman Purashkar and Sharat Puraskar.

In 2017, UNESCO declared the Kumbh Mela as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. Kumbh Mela is the largest religious organization in the world. Every day lakhs of people immerse themselves in the holy river.) Four beautiful Hindu pilgrimages-Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik-Tryambak and Ujjain are visited. According to Hindu mythology, at the time of ‘Samudra Manthan’, i.e. movement of the ocean, ‘Amrit’, i.e. immortal drink, was produced and stored in ‘Kumbha’ (pot). In a fight between the Devas and the Asuras, King Vishnu dropped a drop of water on the nectar while carrying it to the Kumbh.

The National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has recently issued the draft Regulatory Guidelines for Child Participation in the Entertainment Industry to protect child artistes involved in films, TV, reality shows, social media and OTT platforms from physical and psychological stress. The draft guidelines also protect child actors’ education by mandating the film producers to appoint a private tutor if the need is required. It also provides protection for minors in the industry under Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976.
