NDTV won award for Kathua coverage. NDTV has won the IPI India Award for Excellence in Journalism, 2019, for its coverage of the rape and murder of a young girl in Kathua and the aftermath, anchored by Nidhi Razdan. NDTV was unanimously selected by a jury headed by former Attorney General of India Soli Sorabjee.

Notes:
The French-Swiss co-produced drama film Particles directed by Blaise Harrison and produced by Estelle Fialon won the Golden Peacock Award at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). It is an ambitious yet modest film about the mysteries of being a teenager.
Lijo Jose Pellissery won the Best Director Award for the movie Jallikattu. Seu Jorge won the Best Actor-Male Award. Usha Jadhav won the Best Actor-Female Award. Pema Tseden’s Balloon won the Special Jury Award. Amin Sidi Boumediene and Marius Olteanu won the Best Debut Feature Film of a Director for Abou Leila and Monsters.

The tropical cyclone Sarai had recently hit Fiji, a country in the South Pacific. It is an archipelago consisting of more than 300 islands. On its present track, the cyclone is forecasted to pass adjacent to Fiji’s main island Viti Levu and then may head towards Tonga, where the tropical cyclone warning centre has been alerted.

The Indian Citizenship Act was passed in the year 1955. It has been amended by the Citizenship (Amendment) Acts of 1986, 1992, 2003, 2005, 2015 and 2019. People living in the Indian Territory as on 26 November 1949 automatically became Indian citizens.

The real estate market value is currently Rs 12,000 crore (US$ 1.72 billion) in 2019. By 2040, real estate market will grow to Rs 65,000 crore (US$ 9.30 billion). It contribute 13% to Indian GDP.

Union Ministry of Steel recently has announced and given Secondary Steel sector awards to 26 mini steel companies in recognition of their contribution. These awards were given in order to enhance the global competitiveness of companies involved in the secondary steel sector.

The National digital communication policy was launched in 2018. The National Digital Communications Policy -2018 will replace the existing National Telecom Policy-2012, to cater to the modern technological advancements such as 5G, IoT, M2M etc. in the Telecom Sector.

MTCR(Missile Technology Control Regime) is a multilateral missile export regime. It seeks to limit the proliferation of missiles and missile technology to 300km and a payload of 500kg. India joined in 2016.
