Adikavi Pampa, Sri Ponna and Ranna were Jain writers and were called as the "three gems of Kannada literature". Pampa wrote Adipurana.  Santiourana was written by Sri Ponna while  Ranna's was famous for his poetry,  Sahasa Bhima Vijaya.
