Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah 2026 Observed Nationwide
Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah 2026 was observed across India from 17 June to 26 June 2026 under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, through the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. The campaign was linked with Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a national drug demand reduction initiative, and it concluded on 26 June 2026, the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan
Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was launched in 2020 as a national campaign for drug demand reduction in India. The programme covers awareness generation, community mobilisation, counselling, and outreach activities in schools, colleges, villages, and urban local bodies.
Campaign Features
The 2026 Saptah included mass pledge drives, awareness rallies, cycle rallies, poster competitions, essay competitions, yoga sessions, meditation sessions, health camps, counselling, community outreach, and social media campaigns. The campaign placed special focus on youth and women participation, which are two major target groups in public health and social welfare programmes.
Inauguration and Concluding Events
Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar virtually inaugurated the Saptah on 17 June 2026. During the inauguration, he launched a Personal Dashboard for Nasha Mukti Mitra and a short film on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The concluding programme was held at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, on 26 June 2026.
