Iran-Russia Maritime Security Belt 2021

Iran-Russia Maritime Security Belt 2021 is a bilateral naval exercise undertaken by Russia and Iran. It is being conducted in the northern part of Indian Ocean. The objective is to strengthen security of maritime trade. This is the second joint exercise conducted by both these countries. The previous exercise was conducted in 2019 along with China. This comes in the backdrop of Iran heightening military muscle-flexing for pressuring the new US administration.
