Indian Startup Unveils Yantur Turbofan Engine Programme
Paninian India Private Ltd. unveiled the Yantur 4.5 kN turbofan engine programme in New Delhi on 20 July 2026. The programme is linked to indigenous propulsion technology for long-range autonomous systems, including combat drones and cruise missiles.

The engine core is designed at 4.5 kN thrust and can be scaled to 12.5 kN for the Svayatt CCAV platform. The programme includes five patent claims covering engine family architecture, combustor and diffuser-nozzle design, compressor technology, digital-twin health monitoring, and advanced manufacturing techniques.

The Yantur engine is intended to power Paninian’s Svayatt L1, a long-range autonomous cruise missile platform linked to the Ministry of Defence’s Make-I programme for the Long-Range Land Attack Cruise Missile. The programme is also associated with sovereign indigenous propulsion technology, a term used for domestic control over critical aerospace engine design and production. Paninian India Private Ltd. is based in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, two major Indian centres for aerospace and defence technology development. The company is seeking $3 million in funding to accelerate testing and integration of the engine for the Svayatt L1 platform.
