The Bosphorus Strait, along with the Dardanelles, connects the Aegean Sea and the Black Sea. The Aegean Sea lies on the collision path of the African and Eurasian tectonic plates. Geographically, it is situated between the Anatolia (Asia Minor) and Balkan peninsulas, separating modern-day Turkey and Greece.

- Lohagarh Fort (Iron fort) is situated at Bharatpur in Rajasthan. It was constructed by Bharatpur Jat rulers.
- Singorgarh fortis located in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh state in Central India. It is a hill-fort of Gondwana dynasty which is spread over hills in a forested area. Shri Ram Nath Kovind laid the foundation stone for the conservation works of Singorgarh Fort.
