Amit Shah Inaugurates Rajasthan Development Projects

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 954 development works worth ₹6,453 crore across 17 districts of Rajasthan at Alwar on 16 August 2026. He also laid the e-foundation stone for a new dairy plant at the Alwar Saras Dairy Complex and commissioned multiple cooperative sector projects in the state.

Cooperative Sector Projects in Rajasthan

The new dairy plant at the Alwar Saras Dairy Complex has an estimated cost of ₹200 crore and an initial milk processing capacity of 3 lakh litres per day. Four other Saras dairy processing and cattle feed plants in Bhilwara, Jaipur, Pali and Rajsamand were commissioned at a total cost of ₹274 crore.

District Central Cooperative Banks and Farmer Credit

The announcement included four new District Central Cooperative Banks for providing zero per cent interest loans to farmers. The districts named in the announcement included Phalodi, Balotra and Pratapgarh, while reports also mentioned Didwana-Kuchaman and Bhilwara in place of one target district.

Direct Benefit Transfers and Employment Measures

Direct Benefit Transfers were made to farmers’ bank accounts during the event. The transfers included ₹152 crore under the Crop Insurance Scheme and more than ₹667 crore under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Appointment letters were also distributed to 10,548 newly selected personnel under the state’s Rozgar Utsav programme.

Memorial and Public Infrastructure

A 21-foot-tall statue and memorial of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was unveiled at Nimbahera in Chittorgarh. The memorial was installed at a cost of more than ₹1.5 crore.
