Security OF D8 leaders a major concern for Pakistan
For Pakistan, who is hosting D8 summit, security of the group’s leaders has become a major challenge amid increasing incidents of suicide attacks.
What is D8?
- D8 or Developing 8 is the group of 8 developing nations with large Muslim populations that have formed an economic development alliance.
- Members: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
Objectives: To improve member states’ position in the global economy, diversify and create new opportunities in trade relations, enhance participation in decision-making at international level, and improve standards of living.
