Multilateral Naval Exercise ‘Milan 2020’

Minister of State for Defence, Shripad Yesso Naik in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on Monday, November 25, informed that the ‘Milan 2020’ naval exercise, that will be the 11th edition of the multilateral naval exercise is scheduled to be held at Visakhapatnam in March 2020, for which invitation have been sent to 41 countries including U.S.A, Russia, Japan, United Kingdom, France, ASEAN nations who are locked in dispute over territorial boundaries in the South China Sea, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Israel etc.

Milan Multilateral Naval Exercise, first held in 1995 is being hosted under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command by the Indian Navy.

To date, the biggest edition of the exercise was held in 2014 with 17 nations participating in it.

The previous edition of Milan exercise was held at Port Blair from 6-13 March 2019 in which 16 nations participated.
