Notes:
The Union Government has exempted the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the national nodal agency to deal with cyber security threats like hacking and phishing, from the purview of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
The Centre has used its powers given under sub-section (2) of Section 24 of the RTI Act to exempt CERT-In from the purview of the transparency law. Using those powers, the Centre has included CERT-In at serial number 27 in the Second Schedule of the RTI Act.

Notes:
Almost two months after it announced the shutting down of its operations, the Afghanistan embassy in New Delhi announced its permanent closure and asked the Indian government to allow the flag of the erstwhile Afghan republic to be hoisted on the premises.
The permanent closure is owing to persistent challenges from the Indian government, as per a statement released by Afghanistan’s ambassador to India.

To transform Karbi Anglong into a tourist destination, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the construction of a Lokhiman temple in Dolamara, Karbi Anglong, with a budget of Rs 5 crore.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh unveiled the Diglot Edition of the Constitution of India in the Manipuri Language, using the Meitei Mayek Script, in Imphal.
The launch event took place on the occasion of Indian Constitution Day, which fell on November 26.

Madhya Pradesh High Court has said that ‘the right to speedy justice is a Fundamental Right’ while rejecting a plea against the executive order of the Chief Justice asking district courts to dispose of 25 of their oldest cases every quarter.
If a court fails to dispose of 25 of its oldest cases in a quarter, the remainder will be added to their target in the next quarter, as per the order.  There was a prolonged strike by lawyers across Madhya Pradesh against the order.

In 2021, the Indian Air Force signed an agreement with Airbus for 56 C295 military transport aircraft. Around 16 of these aircraft will be acquired from final assembly line in Spain.
Spain announced that it is ready to supply more C295 defence transport aircraft to India if it requires. This week ‘Spain-India Forum’ was organised in New Delhi and this was the first time the forum was being held in India. Spain is on board for Indo-Pacific-Mediterranean partnership with India as the key partner.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to pay a two-day visit to Dubai this week to attend World Climate Action Summit, which is part of the 28th meeting of the United Nations ‘Conference of the Parties’ on climate, known as COP28.
The global summit on climate change would focus on reducing emissions and supporting developing countries in dealing with extreme weather events.

India’s Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs Smriti Zubin Irani launched the Guide on Gender-Inclusive Communication.
It is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), the National Gender and Child Centre (NGCC), Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, along with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and UN Women.

Butterfly migration from the Eastern Ghats and plains towards the Western Ghats, an annual phenomenon coinciding with the onset of the Northeast monsoon, was below par this year. Before the onset of the Northeast monsoon, butterflies from the subfamily Danainae, such as Blue Tiger, Dark Blue Tiger, Double-branded Crow, and Common Crow (Tigers and Crows) fly towards the west.
Observers noticed local movement of Common Albatross (Appias albina), a butterfly species from the family Pieridae, in large numbers from hills of Anaikatti and the Nilgiris towards Sirumugai forest range and Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve during the second week of November.

IndiGo has launched an AI chatbot, 6Eskai, powered by the GPT-4 technology with an aim to address travellers’ queries in 10 different languages and to offer a platform for booking tickets across the entire network.
Developed in-house by IndiGo’s digital team, in close collaboration with Microsoft, the AI chatbot is capable of booking tickets, applying discounts, booking addons, performing web check-ins, helping in seat selection, planning trips, answering FAQs, and connecting customers with an agent. Moreover, the bot is also capable of understanding verbal instructions using speech-to-text models.
