Kerala’s renowned Responsible Tourism (RT) Mission has gained international acclaim by securing a coveted position on the United Nations World Tourism Organisation’s (UNWTO) prestigious list of case studies.
This recognition emphasises Kerala’s innovative approach to grassroots development, and aligning tourism with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the head of the Dawoodi Bohra sect of Islam, will receive Pakistan’s highest civilian award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan.
This makes him the fourth Indian to receive the award. The Nishan-e-Pakistan is equivalent to the highest military gallantry award. Other Indians who have received the award include Former Prime Minister Morarji Desai, Actor Dilip Kumar and Kashmiri separatist leader Ali Gilani.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD 500 million loan to enhance the quality and affordability of tertiary health care and medical education in Maharashtra.
The programme will initiate pivotal policy reforms to bolster tertiary healthcare services and expand medical education, particularly in underserved regions.

Almost two months after it announced the shutting down of its operations, the Afghanistan embassy in New Delhi announced its permanent closure and asked the Indian government to allow the flag of the erstwhile Afghan republic to be hoisted on the premises.
The permanent closure is owing to persistent challenges from the Indian government, as per a statement released by Afghanistan’s ambassador to India.

National Metallurgist Award (NMA) 2022 was awarded by the Union Ministry of Steel.
Five distinguished metallurgists were being conferred with the coveted NMA 2022 in five categories. Dr Kamachi Mudali Uthandi was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Dr Debashish Bhattacharjee was awarded the National Metallurgist Award.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh unveiled the Diglot Edition of the Constitution of India in the Manipuri Language, using the Meitei Mayek Script, in Imphal.
The launch event took place on the occasion of Indian Constitution Day, which fell on November 26.

To revitalize the rural areas of the state through dairy farming, the Assam government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for the comprehensive enhancement of the state’s dairy sector.
The objective is to elevate milk production to 39 lakh litres per day in the state in the near future.

Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud launched the portal ‘FASTER 2.0’, which will promptly inform jail authorities about court orders to release prisoners.
In the portal, judicial orders of release of a person are transferred to jails, trial courts and high courts for immediate compliance. The portal, ‘FASTER 2.0’, is live and allows immediate intimation to the concerned authorities.  The CJI launched another initiative, a Hindi version of the e-SCR portal, on which the Supreme Court’s judgements can be accessed.

Generative AI is poised to have a more profound impact on certain white-collar jobs than blue-collar ones in the next ten years, showed new workplace research from learning company Pearson.
Blue collar roles, especially those requiring more creative, manual, and collaborative tasks, are likely to face less disruptions from the accelerated adoption of Gen AI aimed at driving productivity. The third edition of the Pearson Skills Outlook series: ‘Gen AI-proof jobs’ analyses the impact of Gen AI on more than 5,000 jobs in five countries – India, Australia, Brazil, the US, and the UK.

Notes:
The UK confirmed first human case of a swine flu strain – influenza A(H1N2)v – similar to one that has been circulating in pigs. This strain is similar to the flu viruses currently found in pigs in the country.
The individual who tested positive for Influenza A(H1N2)v was experiencing respiratory symptoms and was tested. The person had a mild illness and has fully recovered. However, the source of their infection is still unknown and is currently under investigation.
