South Africa is set to become the first African country to implement shared parental leave, as a high court ruling grants both parents the right to take time off following the birth or adoption of a child.
This decision enables parents to decide how to divide four months of parental leave between them. Previously, mothers were entitled to four months’ leave while fathers or partners were allowed a maximum of 10 days.

Nisar, the collaborative earth-observing radar satellite between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has completed a rigorous 21-day test designed to assess its performance under extreme temperatures and the vacuum of outer space, as confirmed by NASA.
This thermal vacuum test was conducted at ISRO’s Satellite Integration and Test Establishment in Bengaluru.

The initial 30 MW unit of the Naitwar Mori hydroelectric project has commenced the supply of electricity to the national power grid.
Situated along the River Tons, a tributary of the Yamuna River, this project is located in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. State-run power producer SJVN has successfully synchronised the first unit of the 60 MW Naitwar Mori project with the National Grid.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has introduced a roadmap to eliminate tuberculosis in children, with a novel emphasis on pregnant and postpartum women affected by the disease.
The roadmap asks countries to provide 90 per cent of people at high risk of developing TB with access to preventive treatment by 2027.
