DeendayalAntyodayaYojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) under the Ministry of Rural Development and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which is set to span two years.

St Petersburg Declaration in 2010 saw 13 tiger range countries commit to reversing the decline of the species population and double their numbers by 2022.
As per recent data, the global tiger population has experienced a notable rise of 60 percent, reaching a total of 5,870 tigers. Countries such as Bhutan, Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao-PDR, and Vietnam observed a decrease in their tiger populations, resulting in a challenging situation for the Tiger Range Countries (TRCs) in Southeast Asia.

Britain’s former Prime Minister David Cameron has recently been appointed as the Foreign Secretary. This marks his return to politics. Rishi Sunak reshuffled his Cabinet, sacking Home Secretary Suella Braverman and resurrecting the political career of former U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron, whom he appointed Foreign Secretary.
Ms. Braverman has a history of provocative statements including her latest allegations of bias in the Metropolitan Police over their handling of pro-Palestinian protests, which she referred to as “hate marches”.

Quacquarelli Symonds released QS Asia University Rankings 2024. IIT Bombay has secured the top position in India and 40th position in overall Asia. Similarly, IIT Delhi stood second among Indian institutes and secured 46th rank overall.
Peking University of China topped the Asia ranking list by securing Rank 1 followed by the University of Hong Kong in the second position and the National University of Singapore in the third place. A record 148 Indian universities found their place in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024.

China and Pakistan are conducting the third edition of the Sea Guardian-3 bilateral naval exercise in the northern Arabian Sea.
This is their largest-ever naval exercise in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) to enhance interoperability between their navies. The two sides will also hold their maiden joint maritime patrol. The exercise is scheduled from November 11 to 17.

The 2023-24 Budget has pegged direct tax collection at Rs 18.23 trillion, 9.75 per cent higher than Rs 16.61 trillion in the last fiscal.
The government will exceed the Rs 18.23 trillion direct tax collection target set for the current fiscal, as per Central Board of Direct Taxes. As per government data, the net direct tax collection between April 1 and November 9 this fiscal has grown 22 per cent to Rs 10.60 trillion.
