The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Partners in Change hosted a Pre-National Conference on Responsible Business Conduct webinar in New Delhi, exploring the realm of Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR).
The BRSR seeks disclosures from listed entities on their performance against the nine principles of the ‘National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct’(NGBRCs). With effect from 2022-2023, SEBI mandated filing of BRSR for the top 1000 listed companies (by market capitalization).

Javier Milei recently won Argentina’s presidential election. Controversial economist Javier Milei, a far-right libertarian outsider in Argentina’s politics, is set to be the country’s next president.
The political landscape of Argentina has been historically influenced by socialism in Latin America. Milei has not only promised to tighten the fiscal expenditures but also promised to scrap the local currency and shutting down the central bank.

World Heritage Week is observed every year from November 19 to November 25. The week aims to promote the conservation of culture and heritage across the globe.
It celebrates the heritage sites recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).  In India, the festival is observed by the Archaeological Survey of India.

In a recent study, the James Webb Space Telescope from NASA has detected a sophisticated cosmic supply chain involving ice-covered pebbles drifting inward from the outer Solar System.
This observation supports the longstanding theory that these pebbles are transporting water to planets in the process of formation closer to their respective stars.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma launched the “Water Smart Kids Meghalaya” school campaign, an initiative under the Jal Jeevan Mission of the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Its primary goal is to inspire action and educate children on water conservation and the protection of the state’s water bodies.
Meghalaya also launched the ‘Food Security’ Campaign to sensitise the people on the food items entailed to ensure that the poorest of the poor have access to food grains.

NASA is gearing up to launch the Atmospheric Waves Experiment (AWE), a mission designed to investigate a crucial factor influencing space weather – Earth’s atmospheric conditions.
The focus of the study will be on Atmospheric Gravity Waves (AGWs), which is a specific type of vertical wave.

International Emmy Awards 2023, Indian actor-comedian Vir Das, clinched the Emmy in the Best Comedy category for his Netflix stand-up special, “Vir Das: Landing.”
Multi-talented producer Ekta Kapoor received the prestigious International Emmy Directorate Award for her “significant contribution to the world of arts and entertainment,” making her the first Indian woman to achieve this distinction.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India and the West Bengal government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) raise funds through the capital market.
It aims to spread awareness among MSMEs in the state regarding fundraising via the IPO mechanism using NSE Emerge, the SME platform of NSE.

As per the Global Healthcare Report, India is currently grappling with a shortage of 2 billion square feet of healthcare infrastructure to adequately serve its population of 1.42 billion.
The World Health Organization (WHO) advises a ratio of 3 beds per 1000 people, indicating that India requires an additional 2.4 million beds to meet the recommended standards.
