The Vice President of India is set to launch the first social media super-application of the country named ‘Elyments’. More than 1000 IT professionals have created the application.
The application, that will be available in more than 8 Indian languages, aims to combine the features of popular social media applications and present it on a single unified app. It also has features such as free audio and video calls and chats.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has deployed 120 Mobile Medical Vans named ‘Dhanvantri Rath’ across the city.
It is a mobile van that provides non-COVID essential healthcare services to every household of the corporation. Every van has an AYUSH Doctor, a paramedic and nursing staff and a local Medical Officer from the Corporation’s Urban Health Centre. It conducts regular out-patient consultations.

Notes:
India and Afghanistan have recently signed five agreements for developing educational infrastructure in Afghanistan.
The MoUs, that were signed under the High impact community development projects (HICDP) programme. It is implemented by India to promote bilateral partnership. The educational infrastructure is to be improved in four Afghan provinces of Nooristan, Badakhshan, Farah and Kapisa.

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has launched a campaign on social media platforms named ‘Intzaar Aap Ka’.
The campaign aims to attract tourists to the iconic tourist places of the state. The board has described every tourist destination of the state with this tagline in social media. It has also announced tour packages to the destinations, with safety measures.

Veteran bureaucrat Injeti Srinivas has been appointed as the first chairman of the International Financial Services Centre Authority (IFSCA).
The IFSCA was recently established by the Finance ministry to regulate all financial services in International Financial Services Centres (IFSCs) in the country. It is headquartered at Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) City, Ahmedabad. The former Corporate affairs Secretary will head the IFSCA for three years.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has launched the state’s own document scanning application named ‘Self Scan’.
The application has been developed by the state’s information technology department. This has been launched amidst the ban imposed by the Centre over 59 Chinese mobile apps. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the state’s first Plasma Bank for treatment of COVID-19 positive patients.

As per the recent communication from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), all custom stations would set up Turant Suvidha Kendras (TSKs) by July 15.
The centres would act as the only interface point with Customs officers for physical submission of documents. The Union Budget 2020 proposed to launch nation-wide faceless assessment and this is considered as the first step in the process. CBIC has also inducted several modern testing equipment into the Central Revenues Control Laboratory.

The fourth edition of the Ministerial on Climate Action (MoCA) was recently held through video conferencing.
India’s Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar represented the country in the meeting. It was co-chaired by European Union, China and Canada to discuss on the implementation of the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with Microsoft, to provide digital skills to more than 1 lakh youth in the country.
Microsoft is set to collaborate with NSDC’s eSkill India portal to conduct digital skilling awareness programmes in the next 12 months. This program is a part of the global skilling initiative carried out across the world by Microsoft.

An employee who earns a monthly salary of up to Rs 15,000 is mandatorily required to join the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) scheme.
Union Cabinet has approved extension of EPF contribution of 24% i.e., employees share of 12% and employers share of 12%, for another 3 months till August 2020. Under the AtmaNirbhar Yojana, the Government had earlier proposed to make the 24% contribution. This will cost Rs 4680 crore to the Government.
