Social Media giant WhatsApp has launched its first brand campaign named ‘It’s Between You’ in India.
WhatsApp has collaborated with Indian director Gauri Shinde along with advertising agency BBDO India to create two advertisements, that highlight how the features of WhatsApp help to imitate in-person conversations.

The state government of Assam has decided to upgrade the Dehing Patkai wildlife sanctuary into a national park.
Earlier, the National Board of Wild Life (NBWL) under the Environment Ministry had recommended coal mining to be allowed within a portion of Dehing Patkai Elephant Reserve. After the upgradation of tis sanctuary, Assam will have 6 national parks. Dehing Patkai comprises of a variety of unique flora and fauna.

Legendary Italian musician Ennio Morricone has recently passed away, at the age of 91. He had won two Oscar awards, the latest being awarded in 2016 for best original score for ‘The Hateful Eight’.
He was considered as one of the world’s most famous and creative music composers. His musical works including ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ and ‘The Mission’ were appreciated by his fans across the world. He had also won numerous awards including the Golden Globes, Grammys and BAFTAs.

World Chess champion, Norwegian Grand Master Magnus Carlsen has won the Chessable Masters online tournament.
This tournament is the third event of the Magnus Carlsen Tour. Carlsen has won by scoring a straight-set victory in the final. He has faced Dutch chess player Anish Giri in the final. This is also the second time, Carlsen is winning the tournament, out of the three events of the tour.

The property consultant JLL has released the Global Real Estate Transparency Index recently. India is ranked in the 34th position in the index.
The country’s real estate market is currently placed in the ‘semi-transparent’ zone. India’s rank has improved one position, due to regulatory reforms, better market data and green initiatives. The United Kingdom (UK) tops the list of 99 countries, followed by the United States and Australia.

Ace Indian boxer and World championships silver medallist Amit Panghal is ranked at the first spot, in men’s 52kg category, as per the latest world rankings released by the International Boxing Association (AIBA).
Worlds silver medallist Manju Rani has been placed at the second rank in 48 kg category. Legendary boxer Mary Kom is placed at third place. Kavinder Bisht, Deepak and Manish Kaushik also found place in the top ten ranks in their categories.

A three-day virtual conference named ‘India Global Week 2020’ is being organised in the United Kingdom.
The theme of the conference is “Be The Revival: India and a Better New World”. The inaugural address of the first day of the conference was delivered by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The conference is addressed by about 250 international speakers and will have 5000 participants.

The IIT Alumni Council is setting up the world’s largest molecular diagnostic lab in Mumbai, Maharashtra named ‘MegaLab Mumbai’.
Recently, the council has partnered with a CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), to conduct research on spread of COVID-19 and patient data analysis. The IIT Alumni Council is the largest association of alumni, students and teachers from all the 23 IITs and partnering technical institutes.

The first international cricket match, after the occurrence of Covid-19, commenced between England and West Indies.
The test match started at Ageas Bowl in London. After the delay of 117 days caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the international cricket match has begun. England team is lead by Ben Stokes while the West Indies team is led by Jason Holder.

Notes:
The State Government of Gujarat has recently constituted a five-member commission to decide rightful beneficiaries among three tribal communities residing in the areas of Gir, Barda, and Aalech forests.
The commission would consist of a retired High Court Judge, two retired District Court Judges, a retired Forest Department official and a retired Additional Collector. The aim is to prevent wrong persons from taking benefits of the tribal people and to protect their rights.
