Notes:
A white card was shown for the first time in a women’s cup quarter-final match between Benfica and Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.
The card was initiated by Portugal to try and improve ethical value in the sport. It is in contrast with yellow and red cards which are used to discipline players for misconduct. The exact purpose and consequence of the card are yet to be announced. When a fan fell ill in the stands, the medical teams from both the teams rushed to the spot and the card was shown as an appreciation to the medical teams for their spirit.

The government has rolled out Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP), to make vaccinations of children and pregnant women hassle-free.
The platform aims to digitise India’s Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) and has been launched in pilot mode across two districts of each state and union territory. This platform will help in registering and vaccinating every pregnant woman, recording her delivery outcome, registering newborn delivery, and administering birth vaccinations and all immunisations.

Notes:
As per United Nations (UN) World Economic Situation and Prospects 2023 report, India’s growth is likely to remain strong at 5.8 per cent.
The growth estimation was slightly lower than the estimated 6.4 per cent in 2022, due to higher interest rates and effect of global slowdown on investment and exports. UN also predicted a worsening outlook in most developing regions amid the fear of a possible recession.

India and Egypt signed an MoU to facilitate content exchange, capacity building, and co-productions between Prasar Bharati and the National Media Authority of Egypt.
Both broadcasters will exchange their programmes of different genres like Sports, News, Culture, Entertainment on a bilateral basis. The MOU will also facilitate co-productions and training of the officials of both broadcasters in the latest technologies.

In the 12th Session of the Intergovernmental Technical Working Group (ITWG) on Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR) at Rome, India was elected as Vice-Chair and represented Asia & Pacific region.
The Working Group, established by the FAO’s Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA), functions to review technical issues, advise and make recommendations to the Commission and further implement the Commission’s programme related to AnGR.

The Food Corporation of India (FCI) decided to off load 30 LMT wheat from the Central pool stock to the market, through various routes under Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic).
Offloading of 30 LMT wheat within a span of two months through multiple channels will have immediate impact on the rising Wheat and Atta prices. Wheat will be offered to the Flour millers, Bulk Buyers etc through e-auction, and to State Governments/UTs for their schemes without e-auction.

Kappad is the only beach in Kerala with the international Blue Flag certificate, which is given to beaches that meet guidelines on ensuring eco-friendly measures, safety and hygiene.
A team of experts commenced a scientific study to prepare a proposal on protecting the 3.5-km stretch of coastline from Thuvvappara at Kappad beach to Valiyamangad near Koyilandy, in Kozhikode district in the state.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is aiming to launch the Aditya-L1 mission by June or July 2023.
Aditya-L1 is the first Indian space mission to observe the Sun and the solar corona. Scientists at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru recently handed over one of the most challenging scientific payloads to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Notes:
Sri Chamarajendra Zoo also called as the Mysuru Zoo, put three healthy lion cubs on public display, for the first time since their birth.
The cubs (two males and one female) were born to five-year-old lioness Nirbhaya who was brought from Nandan Van Zoo at Raipur in 2021. She was paired with lion Raju who was brought from Junagadh zoo in Gujarat in 2019.

Notes:
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways launched the national logistics portal–marine (NLP-M).
It is a single-window platform aimed at bringing all trade stakeholders together and reducing the cost of logistics through real-time mapping and provisioning. The commerce ministry had also launched a similar single window portal for establishing businesses in 2021.
