Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) is given to children of age five to 18, for their achievements in six categories namely Art & Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Scholastic, Social Service, and Sports.
Each awardee receives a medal, a cash prize of Rs1 lakh, and a certificate. This year, the PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) was conferred on 11 children.

A sensitisation workshop on G-20 Environment and Climate Sustainability is being organised in Bengaluru.
The first meeting of the G-20 Working Group on Environment and Climate Sustainability will be held in Bengaluru in February 2023. The G-20 Working Group will focus on Arresting Land Degradation Restoration of Degraded Lands and Enhancement of Biodiversity.

The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Centre has nominated the maidams of Ahom Kingdom in Charaideo to seek a UNESCO World Heritage Site tag for the historic site.
The Charaideo Maidams are the representation of the late medieval mound burial tradition of the Tai Ahom community in Assam. The Maidams are managed by the Archaeological Survey of India and the State Department of Archaeology.

Union Commerce Ministry relaxed Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) scheme norms to promote ease of doing business.
Under the scheme, imports of capital goods are allowed duty free, subject to an export obligation. The latest relaxation will be available for hotel, healthcare, and educational sectors.

Rajasthan has launched a scheme to provide drones to low-income farmers on rent to help them monitor crops and spray chemicals on the crops.
Around 1,500 drones will be made available at custom hiring centres by the state government in two years. Drone-based spray requires less quantity of water and pesticides and it also helps in saving water.

PepsiCo Foundation, the philanthropic arm of PepsiCo and CARE, launched ‘She Feeds the World’ program in India.
It aims to strengthen the role of small-scale women producers through sustainable training and economic support. The program will be implemented in the Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts of West Bengal.

The G20 Startup20 Engagement Group will hold its first inception meeting in Hyderabad. Delegates from G20 nations and nine special invitees from observer countries, and representatives from multilateral organizations will attend the meeting.
The Startup20 inception meeting is expected to lay a foundation for the official Policy Communique, a Startup Handbook with a set of commonly agreed-upon definitions and terminologies, and a Global Innovation Centre to foster collaborations across borders.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is aiming to launch the Aditya-L1 mission by June or July 2023.
Aditya-L1 is the first Indian space mission to observe the Sun and the solar corona. Scientists at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru recently handed over one of the most challenging scientific payloads to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Notes:
A report recently published by Hindenburg Research has accused Adani Group of stock manipulation, improper use of tax havens and money laundering.
It has also raised concerns about the group’s mounting debts. The report has led to sharp erosion in the valuation of listed companies like Adani Enterprises, Adani Power, Adani Total Gas, Adani Transmission, Adani Ports & SEZ, Adani Green Energy and NDTV among others.

Notes:
Sri Chamarajendra Zoo also called as the Mysuru Zoo, put three healthy lion cubs on public display, for the first time since their birth.
The cubs (two males and one female) were born to five-year-old lioness Nirbhaya who was brought from Nandan Van Zoo at Raipur in 2021. She was paired with lion Raju who was brought from Junagadh zoo in Gujarat in 2019.
