To access the free ambulance service.The delivery executives can reach out on a toll-free number or tap the SOS button in case of an emergency before, during or after a delivery. As per a recent study in 2020-21, 77 lakh workers were engaged in India’s gig economy.

The Major Ports Adjudicatory Board Rules, 2023, framed under the Act, has been notified by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
The Major Port Authorities Act, 2021 came into force in November 2021. As per the rules, the Adjudicatory Board shall consist of a Presiding Officer and two members. The Presiding Officer shall be a retired Judge of Supreme Court of India or a retired Chief Justice of a High Court and the two Members shall either be a retired Chief Secretary of a State Government or equivalent; or a retired Secretary of the Government of India or equivalent.

The Department of Consumer Affairs under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution released a guide named ‘Endorsements Know-hows!’ for celebrities, influencers and virtual influencers on social media platforms.
The guide aims to ensure that individuals do not mislead their audiences when endorsing products or services. It also ensures if they are in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act and any associated rules or guidelines.

A Russian warship armed with hypersonic cruise weapons will take part in exercises with the Chinese and South African navies.
This is the first official mention of the participation by the Russian frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov. The frigate is armed with Zircon missiles, which fly at nine times the speed of sound.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde inaugurated the Regional Conference on ‘e-Governance’ at Mumbai.
This conference has been jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra in Mumbai. It aims to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of best practices in transparent and citizen-friendly effective administration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several projects related to water security, farmers’ welfare and road connectivity in Karnataka.
He launched Narayanpur left bank canal with modern irrigation system at Yadgir in North Karnataka. It is implemented at a cost of 4699 crore rupees and will help irrigate over five lakh hectares in the backward regions of Yadgir, Raichur and Kalburgi.

India has produced a record over 5,000 Lakh Metric Tons (LMT) of sugarcane in the sugar season 2021-22.
During the sugar season between October and September 2021-22, India has emerged as the world’s largest producer and consumer of sugar. It has also become the world’s second-largest exporter of sugar after Brazil.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik released the publication titled ‘Hockey & India — A Golden Legacy’ book by Sportstar on Indian hockey.
With 192 pages of old and new pictures from 1928 to the present, the book is a collector’s edition for public in general and fans of Indian sports in particular.
