Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb laid the foundation stone for Kamalpur-Kurmaghat border haat between India and Bangladesh in Dhalai district.
The Border Haat is expected to boost trade relations between the two countries. Border Haats are duty-free trading spaces between two countries where locally grown products are sold to people living within a radius of 5 Km of the Haat on specific days of the week.

Mission for Economic Empowerment of Traditional Artisans and Craftsmen (MEETAC), Manipur, and the National Institute of Design have created ‘Craft Map of Manipur’.
It includes all art forms across the state such as the black earthenware crafted by the Tangkhul community without using a potter’s wheel, GI-tagged Manipuri half sari called ‘moirang phee’, ‘Thang’ knifes , products made from ‘kauna’, firm-stemmed grass among others.

Shares of Facebook owner Meta fell 26%, the biggest single-day slide in market value for a U.S. company.
This huge drop erased over USD 200 billion from Meta’s market capitalization and around USD 29 billion from Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth. This further dragged the Nasdaq Composite Index lower.

Los Angeles is the venue of the 2028 Olympic Games or the 2028 Summer Olympic Games. It is being referred as LA28.
Paris is the venue of 2024 Olympic Games. Recently, the International Olympic Committee has approved a proposal to include surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing among the core sports for the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.

Article 275 of the Constitution deals with the ‘Grants from the Union to certain States’. Recently, the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, released monthly Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of Rs. 9,871 crore to 17 States.
This was the 10th instalment of the PDRD grant released to the States. The Grant is provided to the states under the Article 275 of the Constitution. The Commission has recommended PDRD grants to 17 States.

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a new partnership under the Sustainable Access to Markets and Resources for Innovative Delivery of Healthcare (SAMRIDH) initiative.
The partnership with AIM, NITI Aayog will promote SAMRIDH’s efforts to reach sustainable healthcare models and innovative financing mechanisms to improve the quality of spending in the health sector.

Scientists in the United Kingdom have achieved a new milestone in producing nuclear fusion energy, or imitating the way energy is produced in the Sun.
A team at the Joint European Torus (JET) facility in central England generated 59 mega joules of sustained energy during an experiment. A kg of fusion fuel contains about 10 million times energy of that of a kg of coal, oil or gas.

According to figures released by the US Census Bureau, India-US bilateral goods trade was worth USD 113.391 billion from January to December 2021.
This is the largest volume of goods trade in a calendar year in India-US economic history. India exported goods worth over USD 73 billion, and imported goods worth over USD 40 billion dollars. In 2020 trade fell to USD 78.2 billion due to pandemic, from the high of USD 92.1 billion in 2019.

NASA has announced two new science missions namely Multi-slit Solar Explorer (MUSE) and HelioSwarm.
These two missions aim to study the sun’s corona and also measuring the magnetic field of the solar wind. NASA earlier announced the latest observations done by the Parker Solar probe on its way to the sun.

The US Congress passed a legislation that ends forced arbitration in sexual assault and harassment disputes at workplaces.
After getting signed by the President Joe Biden, the bill will allow survivors to sue their abusers in a public court even if they have signed employment agreements that require them to settle disputes internally through an arbitrator.
