The Minister informed the Rajya Sabha that loans amounting to ₹10,320 crore have been sanctioned under Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF). The Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) is a Central Sector Scheme launched under the Prime Minister’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan stimulus package. The scheme aims to boost investments in animal husbandry infrastructure nationwide. It is implemented by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.

Jharkhand approved the Platform Based Gig Workers (Registration and Welfare) Act, 2025 with Governor Santosh Gangwar’s assent. The Act provides a formal welfare and social security system for gig and platform workers. It covers delivery, transport and on-demand service workers. A Gig Workers’ Welfare Board will handle registration, identity cards and welfare schemes. The Act mandates minimum wages, medical insurance and social security benefits for workers. Aggregators violating provisions may face penalties up to ₹10 lakh. Jharkhand becomes one of the first states to regulate the gig economy through a dedicated law.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) hosted Exercise AviaIndra-2025, a joint air exercise with the Russian Federation Aerospace Force (RFASF), from December 15 to 22, 2025. Exercise AviaIndra reflects the long-standing Indo-Russian defence relationship and continues the series which began in 2014. Personnel from both countries are conducting joint flying operations on Su-30 MKI, Tejas, IL-78 aircraft, and Mi-17 helicopters. The exercise enables sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and operational expertise between the two air forces.

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) implements the National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) Scheme to promote entrepreneurship among SCs/STs and ensure 4% procurement from SC/ST MSEs under the Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises, Government of India. The scheme provides support through capacity building programmes, market linkage initiatives, Special Vendor Development Programmes (SVDPs), workshops, and awareness programmes. Financial assistance is offered for purchase of plant & machinery/equipment, registration under Single Point Registration Scheme, and enrollment on government-promoted e-commerce portals.

Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) issued a Request for Proposal (RfP) to set up Antariksh Prayogshala (Space Labs) in select academic institutions. It is a first-of-its-kind IN-SPACe initiative to build advanced space labs inside Indian colleges and universities. Labs will give hands-on training to students in space technology across the country. IN-SPACe will fund 75% of project cost, capped at ₹5 crore per institution, released based on milestones.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has released revised guidelines and a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the ‘Support to Poor Prisoners’ Scheme, 2023. The scheme aims to enable the release of indigent prisoners and undertrials who are unable to pay fines or furnish bail sureties, thereby reducing prison overcrowding. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) serves as the nodal agency for the implementation of the scheme. At the district level, an Empowered Committee examines the eligibility of prisoners, assesses the financial assistance required for bail or fines, and recommends the release of funds. A State-level Oversight Committee monitors and supervises the implementation of the scheme across the state.

National Mathematics Day is observed annually on December 22 to honor the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of India’s most influential mathematicians. The day was formally instituted by the Government of India in December 2011, with 2012 declared as National Mathematics Year to promote mathematical learning and research nationwide. The U.S. Army and U.S. Navy recently completed integrated testing of the Dark Eagle Long‑Range Hypersonic Weapon system, marking a major milestone in America’s hypersonic weapons development. The Dark Eagle Long‑Range Hypersonic Weapon is a non‑nuclear, ground‑launched hypersonic missile system being developed for the U.S. Army as part of U.S. hypersonic modernization efforts. The missile component of the Long‑Range Hypersonic Weapon program is jointly developed by Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, two leading American defense companies.

Noida golfer Sukhman Singh won the IGU (Indian Golf Union) 124th Amateur Golf Championship of India, the world’s longest-running amateur matchplay event. He defeated Harman Sachdeva with a commanding 7UP lead after 29 holes of the 36-hole final. Sukhman went all square till the 6th, then 4UP after 12 holes and 2UP after 18 holes, maintaining pressure with strong driving and putting.
