‘Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala Scheme’ is implemented by the state of Uttar Pradesh. The scheme provides conditional cash transfer of a sum of Rs 15000, to a girl child at different stages of her life.
The sum of ₹ 15,000 per beneficiary are provided at various stages including at birth, on completing one year complete vaccination, on admission in class-I, class-VI and class-IX, on admission in any degree/ diploma course after passing class X or XII.

Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru based DRDO laboratory along with other DRDO labs has developed the High-speed expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) Abhyas.
Defence research and development organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the flight test of the indigenously developed Target system, recently off the coast of Odisha.

The social activist and Nobel laureate Desmond Tutu who helped end apartheid in South Africa, passed away at the age of 90.
The Arch Bishop is regarded as a contemporary figure of the anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela. Deshmond Tutu was awarded the Nobel prize in 1984 for his non-violent approaches in the struggle to abolish the apartheid system.

‘Golan Heights’ is a geo-political region captured from Syria by Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced that the country intends to double the amount of settlers living in the Golan Heights.
This was announced during a special Cabinet meeting in the Golan Heights. The territory was captured more than five decades ago, in the 1967 Mideast war.

‘Airgun Surrender Abhiyan’ is being implemented in Arunachal Pradesh. Under the programme,  people are voluntarily surrendering their airguns to stop  indiscriminate hunting of birds.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently appreciated about the Airgun Surrender Abhiyan. The state has been running a unique campaign for a year and in the name of ‘Arunachal Pradesh Airgun Surrender Campaign’.

HDFC Bank has tied up with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) to offer its banking services to the unbanked segments in semi-urban and rural areas.
An MoU was signed between HDFC Bank and IPPB to cater to the 4.7 crore customer base of IPPB, by providing access to finance. About 90 per cent of IPPB customers reside in rural areas.

Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry has released guidelines regarding Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFV) and Flex Fuel Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles (FFV-SHEV).
The Automobile Manufacturers are advised to manufacture the vehicles complying with BS-6 Norms within a period of six months.

Missionaries of Charity, is a congregation established by Mother Teresa, now called as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, in the year 1950.
Recently, it was announced that Union Home Affairs Ministry had frozen all bank accounts of Missionaries of Charity in India. Every NGO needs to renew its FCRA (Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act) licence.

Notes:
The Reserve Bank of India released a report on “Trend and Progress of Banking in India 2020-21”. It presents the performance of the banking sector, including co-operative banks, and NBFCs during 2020-21 and 2021-22 so far.
Gross non-performing assets (GNPA) ratio of scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) declined from 8.2 per cent at end-March 2020 to 7.3 per cent at end-March 2021 and further to 6.9 per cent at end-September 2021.

Notes:
Grotto temples are the key form of Chinese Buddhist art. They are religious sites carved into mountains or rock and were introduced to China along the ancient Silk Road in the 3rd century.
China’s National Cultural Heritage Administration announced that closer links will be made between the Chinese Grotto temples and their overseas counterparts along the ancient Silk Road. There are 5,986 grotto temple sites in the country.
