The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to launch the ‘happiness curriculum’ in 150 primary schools of Uttar Pradesh under a pilot project.
It aims to make the students more sensitive towards nature, society and the country. Uttar Pradesh will be the third state in the country after Chhattisgarh and Delhi to implement the curriculum. The happiness curriculum will be introduced to the students of Classes 1 to 8.

European aerospace major Airbus has selected India-based engineering and product development digital services firm Tata Technologies, as a strategic supplier.
The company is set to become an “engineering, manufacturing engineering and services strategic supplier (EMES3)”. Tata aims to collaborate with Airbus across multiple areas and geographies through the master supply agreement (MSA).

Notes:
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that it will no longer censor films released in cinemas. It is seen as an effort of the kingdom to boost its brand as a liberal hub attractive to foreigners.
As per the authorities, “The movies will be screened in cinemas according to their international version.” The government has been reforming its Islamic legal code and will change its weekend to Saturday-Sunday from next year.

NASA has recently released noises captured near Jupiter’s moon Ganymede. Ganymede is also the largest moon in our solar system.
Ganymede also has its own magnetic field, which is not present in other moons of the solar system. NASA launched the Juno spacecraft, to observe Jupiter’s neighbourhood. Earlier this year, Juno captured Ganymede’s electromagnetic waves.

The Lok Sabha has developed a new mobile application for the Members of Parliament (MPs) to access important parliamentary documents, information, and bills. This app also allows people to watch the live proceedings of the House.
The details of the new app were explained by the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at the house and he invited all the members to download this in their mobile phones and tablets.

A team of 111 scientists from 12 countries have released the 16th annual Arctic Report Card, which is a yearly update on the state of the Arctic system.
The report warns that as the planet rapidly warms, temperatures are rising twice as fast as the rest of the globe. Arctic Sea ice is seen as a vital sign a big indicator of global climate change and it is continuing to shrink under warming temperatures.

The population of the United States grew more slowly in 2021 than in any other year since 1900, as per the US Census Bureau.
COVID pandemic, economic shutdowns, decreased migration and fewer births are among reasons for low population growth. The US population grew by about 393,000 in 2021, at an historic low of 0.1 percent, according to new estimates released by the Census Bureau.

NITI Aayog has entered into an agreement with United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to address issues related to inclusion of millets in government programmes.
This agreement aims to diversify the food basket under its free food distribution programme by mainstreaming millets and strengthening of climate resilient agriculture.

As per the data given by Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, 600 elephants have died due to electrocution across the country between 2009 and 2019.
Of this, 117 deaths have taken place in Odisha, 116 in Karnataka and 105 in Assam. Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Maharashtra are the only states which recorded zero elephant deaths due to electrocution.

“Pillar of Shame” is a statue commemorating those killed in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. It is a eight-metre high statue located in University of Hong Kong’s (HKU) campus since 1997.
The memorial features 50 anguished faces and tortured bodies and commemorates democracy protesters killed by Chinese troops around Tiananmen Square in 1989. Hong Kong’s oldest university launched an overnight operation to dismantle the statue.
