Kaziranga National Park has become the first national park in India to be equipped with satellite phones. Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua handed over 10 satellite phones to the forest personnel of the Kaziranga National Park. The satellite phones will be used in pockets of the park’s six ranges with no wireless or poor mobile connectivity. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority had procured the 10 satellite phones for Kaziranga at an estimated cost of Rs 16 lakh. The park authorities will bear the monthly expenses for the service provided by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra has finished at number 2nd rank in the World Athletics ranking after securing Gold Medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Neeraj Chopra has been ranked second with his score of 1315. He is only behind German athlete Johannes Vetter who is having the score of 1396. Neeraj Chopra created history on August 7, 2021 by winning Gold Medal. He has become India’s first athlete to win gold in track and field at Olympics. He threw the javelin to a distance of 87.58m. World Athletics has listed his throw at the Olympics has now been listed as one among 10 magical moments of athletics (track and field) in the Tokyo Olympics.

SAP India and Microsoft has announced the launch of a joint skilling programme ‘TechSaksham’ for empowering young women students from underserved communities to build careers in technology. Through the joint initiative, SAP India and Microsoft aims to skill 62,000 women students in areas like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, web design and digital marketing. The programme will work in collaboration with the AICTE Training and Learning Academy-ATAL and state collegiate education departments to support the professional development of faculty at participating institutes.

Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha has launched PROOF (Photographic Record of On-site Facility) app to monitor timely completion of projects. This app will help in uploading geotagged photographs while preferring bills in the concerned treasuries against the budget allotted through the BEAMS application. It will monitor and timely complete projects in time duration. In this application details of all projects with complete geo-tagged photographs shall now be available for the public through the EMPOWERMENT portal. Bringing more transparency & accountability in the system, the details of all the projects with complete geo-tagged photographs shall now be available for the public through the EMPOWERMENT portal. After the launch of this app, no bills shall be entertained in the treasury unless photographs of projects are uploaded. This new initiative will have a larger impact on monitoring & timely completion of projects.

• Madhya Pradesh Police has launched a pilot initiative to allow people to register FIRs online related to vehicle theft or theft of cash and items up to Rs 1 lakh.
• Any victim of vehicle theft (up to Rs 15 lakh) and monetary theft which can be any item such as cash, jewellery, mobile phones, equipment (up to Rs 1 lakh), can lodge an e-FIR.
• The mediums through which online complaints can be lodged are https://mppolice, citizen portal https://citizen.mppolice.gov.in, and by logging in through a mobile app (MPECOP).
• The e-FIR registration facility will be available round the clock.

• Union Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated an Exhibition Katha Kranthiveeron Ki, an exhibition of revolutionaries in New Delhi.
• The exhibition Katha Kranthiveeron Ki has been put up at Rabindra Bhawan as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ being celebrated to commemorate 75 years of Independence.
• The Exhibition “Katha Krantiveeron Ki” has on display more than 100 artworks recognising unsung heroes like Alluri Sitarama Raju and Artwork created during Shaheedi Diwas, Champaran Satyagraha and Jallianwala Bagh camp.

• Netflix and UNESCO have partnered to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage through the streaming platform’s popular animated series “Mighty Little Bheem”.
• Netflix and UNESCO will come up with a series of short videos themed ‘One Country, Incredible Diversity’ that will focus on India’s cultural journey, monuments, living heritage, performing arts, social practices, rituals and festivals such as Dussehra, Diwali, Holi, etc.
• The short videos, featuring Bheem, will be released on UNESCO New Delhi’s Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter pages.
• The first video in the series was released on Friday, ahead of the 75th Independence Day.

• HCL Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of HCL Technologies has launched an online portal, ‘My e-Haat’, to empower artisans and strengthen the value chain of the handicraft sector in the country.
• Currently, more than 30 partners from eight states with over 600 products are listed on the portal.
• The portal will assist in showcasing the ingenuity of skilled artisans from all over the country in front of the globe, resulting in increased recognition, appreciation, and remuneration.

• Tata Motors has joined hands with Bank of Maharashtra to offer car loan facilities for its New Forever range of passenger vehicles.
• Under the collaboration, Bank of Maharashtra will provide loans to Tata Motors’ customers at an interest rate starting from as low as 7.15% linked with Repo Linked Lending Rate (RLLR).
• The scheme will offer a maximum of 90% financing on the total cost of the vehicle.
