Gaurvi Singhvi (16) from Udaipur has made India proud by becoming the world’s youngest open water swimmer to cross the English Channel in 13 hours and 26 minutes in August 2019. The Channel is a water body that separates southern England from northern France and links southern part of North Sea to the Atlantic Ocean.

Dr. Pawan Munjal, CMD of Hero MotoCorp, will be inducted into the 2019 Asia Pacific Golf Hall Of Fame on 6th November 2019. With this, He will join legendary golfers such as Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and more on this list. Besides his two-wheeler business, Dr. Munjal is one of the biggest promoters of golf, football, field hockey and cricket not only in India but around the globe as well.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently launched the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for eradicating the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis in the livestock from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. The aim of the programme is to vaccinate over 500 Million Livestock including cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs against the disease. It will be implemented for a period of five years till 2024 at a cost of around Rs 13000 crore. Beside this, Mr. Modi also launched Swachhta Hi Seva’ Programme 2019 and National Artificial Insemination Programme.

With this feat, he registered his name in 6 different records viz. Limca Book of Records 2019, International Book of Records 2018, World Book of Records 2019, Indian Achiever Book of Records 2019, India Book of Records 2019 and Asia Book of Records 2019.

Rajasekar (61), the veteran Tamil actor, cinematographer and director, has passed away in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on 8th September 2019.  He also acted in a number of successful television serials and he became popular for his role in the popular daily – Saravanan Meenatchi.

The Gurugram traffic police have tied up with Google maps for dissemination of traffic related information such as planned road closures, diversions, traffic alerts regarding road crash etc. in real time for public use. The basic idea behind this arrangement is to prompt commuters to make intelligent choices in order to make their commuting experience hassle-free.

Australian fast bowler Megan Schutt has scripted history by becoming the first woman to claim two hat-tricks in international cricket.  Schutt also became the only woman cricketer from Australia to claim a hat-trick in One Day Internationals (ODIs) in the third ODI against West Indies in Antigua on September 12, 2019.  She had claimed her first hat-trick in a T20I against India in 2018.

The Uttarakhand government has recently launched Mukhyamantri Dal Poshit Yojana (MDPY)  to provide low-priced pulses for poor in the State. As per scheme, two kg of pulses at subsidised rates  would be made available to 23.32 lakh ration card holders every month. The Chana dal (chick peas split) is being made available at a rate of Rs 44 per kg / month. The current market rate of this pulse is Rs 65 to 70 per kg.

In Jaipur, the Rajasthan government has launched  a ‘Jan Soochna Portal’ to provide information about government authorities and departments suo motu to the public in the true spirit of the Right To Information (RTI) Act. It is claimed that the site is the first of its kind in India that  will bring transparency and accountability, and empower the right of the people to seek information.

On 14th September 2019, Indian cricket team clinched the 8th edition of ACC Under-19 Asia Cup title with a thrilling 5-run win over Bangladesh in a low-scoring final at Colombo. Left-arm spinner Atharva Ankolekar was emerged as the star of the Indian team, with figures of 5 for 28 from 8 overs.
