President Murmu’s first Moldova visit : Key Outcomes

President Droupadi Murmu visited the Republic of Moldova on 20 July 2026 at the invitation of President Maia Sandu. The visit was the first state visit by an Indian President to Moldova since diplomatic relations between India and Moldova began in 1992. The two leaders held bilateral talks at the Presidential Palace in Chisinau and discussed cooperation in trade, technology, education, healthcare, agriculture, renewable energy, and clean energy.

India also expressed support for wider business engagement through investment and innovation links.

Parliamentary and Institutional Engagement

President Murmu met Igor Grosu, President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, and interacted with members of the Moldova-India Parliamentary Friendship Group. An India-Moldova Business Forum was organised to connect business representatives from both countries. India also announced the doubling of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation training slots for Moldova.
