National Marine Turtle Action Plan
The Environment Ministry released the ‘National Marine Turtle Action Plan’ along with ‘Marine Mega Fauna Stranding Guidelines’ recently for conservation purposes. It contains ways and means to respond to stranding, entanglement, injury or deaths of marine mammals and turtles. These documents provide for the inter-sectoral action for conservation and guidelines for improved coordination among all concerned stakeholders. The overall aim is to ensure long-term conservation of marine species and their habitats.
