Haryana Launches Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Women Scheme

The Haryana Government introduced the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana in 2025. It provides Rs 2,100 monthly to eligible women. The scheme aims to empower women and uplift marginalised sections. It was launched on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The event was held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula.

Scheme Objectives

The scheme focuses on strengthening women’s economic and social status. It targets women aged 23 to 60 years. Eligibility depends on family income below Rs 1 lakh annually. Both married and unmarried women qualify. Multiple women in one household can receive benefits. The initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to social welfare.

Financial and Beneficiary Details

Each eligible woman receives Rs 2,100 monthly via Direct Benefit Transfer. The first phase aims to cover about 20 lakh women in Haryana. The government allocated Rs 5,000 crore for the 2025-26 financial year. This budget supports smooth and timely payments. The scheme is part of fulfilling the government’s Sankalp Patra promises.

Technology and Accessibility

A dedicated mobile app was launched to simplify application and grievance redressal. Women can apply from home without visiting offices or service centres. The app features eligibility verification and complaint registration. Nearly 50,000 downloads and 8,000 applications were recorded soon after launch. A toll-free number and helpline support applicants.

Government Initiatives and Development Projects

Alongside the scheme launch, the Chief Minister inaugurated projects worth Rs 326.25 crore. These included 31 health initiatives costing Rs 78.04 crore. Renovation of 10 health institutions was approved at Rs 80.72 crore. New projects worth Rs 78.12 crore were also announced. Public Works and Urban Local Bodies projects worth Rs 89.37 crore began construction.

The scheme represents a major step in women’s empowerment in Haryana. It supports financial independence and social inclusion. The use of digital tools ensures transparency and ease of access. The government encourages young women to apply upon turning 23. The initiative is expected to improve livelihoods and reduce poverty among women.
