Diatom test
Diatom test is a diagnostic method in forensic pathology used to determine the cause of death. The test involves determination of whether diatoms are present in the body. Diatoms are aquatic photosynthetic algae that are found in any place that is moist. When a person drowns, diatoms enter the body upon inhalation of water and are carried to various parts of the body. If a dead body is thrown into water, this doesn’t happen.
