Notes:
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently raised the interchange fee on each transaction at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). This shall be effective from August 1, 2021.
The RBI has decided to allow increase in interchange fee per transaction from Rs 15 to Rs 17 for financial transactions and from Rs 5 to Rs 6 for non-financial transactions in all centres. Customers are eligible for five free transactions every month from their own bank ATMs.

The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) announced that former Supreme Court judge Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri will chair the Grievance Redressal Board of the Digital Publisher Content Grievances Council (DPCGC).
The recently formed DPCGC is backed by 14 publishers of online curated content as members. It will function as an independent body and act as the second tier within the three-tier grievance redressal mechanism mandated in the IT (Digital Media) Rules, 2021.

Maldivian Foreign Minister and the President-elect of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid has appointed K K Nagaraj Naidu as his Chef de Cabinet.
Nagaraj Naidu was India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador. The President- Elect also appointed Ambassador Thilmeeza Hussain, the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the UN as Special Envoy of the PGA.

The International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD) is a worldwide initiative to improve awareness of level crossing safety.
The campaign has been spearheaded by the Paris- based International Union of Railways (UIC), an international rail transport industry body. The ILCAD campaign was established in 2009, by the European Commission and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

United States President Joe Biden announced a donation of 500 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to the world’s poorest countries.
The US has committed to buy and distribute 500 million Pfizer doses through the global COVAX alliance to 92 lower-income countries and the African Union. The goal is to distribute 200 million doses by the end of the year and the remaining in the first half of 2022.
