Government appoints Ranjan Mathai as new Indian High Commissioner to UK
The External Affairs Ministry appointed former Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai as India’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Mr. Mathai (61) is a 1974-batch IFS officer who retired as Foreign Secretary this year. He will succeed Jaimini Bhagwati. Apart from serving as India’s Ambassador to France, he also had postings in Israel and Qatar among other places.
